You can then always get to it easily directly from Windows itself, or from within Firefox by going to Tools* > Downloads. Then, rather then looking at the Download Library right click on any previously downloaded file and choose 'Open containing folder'

*If your Firefox doesn't display File Edit View History Bookmarks Tools Help; along the top, LET ME KNOW as I can tell you how to get them back.

Speaking as someone who spends large portions of their time fixing website loading issues for people around the world, I'd have to disagree. Chrome is still very resource hungry on most operating systems, and still has far more display and other compatibility issues than is really acceptable for a so-called mainstream browser. If I ever need to test what a website should look like, versus what a complaining customer says it looks like, I still use Firefox.

I used to use FFox all the time and then Waterfox as its properly 64bit compliant. It was giving me so many issues each time it was upgraded that i tried and then switched to Chrome beta. Yes it uses more RAM, but if you have 8GB or more, that's not an issue. Its like night and day, performance wise. I guess it depends on what sites you like to browse. Especially if you want to run multiple instances or multiple profiles.

I never turn my laptop off , unless updating the OS.
Just put it in sleep mode - Reboot is instant .
I'd also install RAMDISK and relocate your browser cache to this .Internet browsing will significantly speed up.
Clean the registry.
Do and indepth malware check and removal. ADWcleaner .Malwarebytes.
Task manager - Startup - disable most programs at start up

Thanks for the tips, trying to take them on board.
When I do that task manager for startup, it shows gibberish, which I then have to Google to find out if it's a programme I want, one I NEED, or just an add-on. Is there a way round that?
I've done it via msconfig.
