Your just splitting hairs realy. If you cant notice it its so small its as good as not there! Its like arguing non allcoholic beer can still get you drunk because it still has 0.05% alcohol!

And fyi a genuine ssqvs design meens it always holds and dumps boost perfectly at any boost level there not "cheap metal valves" alot of top tuned jap cars run them.

1st Paragraph - Well no not quite. You made a statement that was completely inaccurate and attempted to belittle someone based on an inaccurate fact, and your new analogy, again, has nothing to do with the original concept you tried to express.

I think you have absolutely no idea what you are talking about based on your second paragraph, so much so, it isn't worth the energy my fingers require to explain it to you. What has 'dumping boost perfectly at any boost level' got to do with anything involved in what a diverter valve actually does?

Because some people are calling them chavy or chav valves. I can understand not wanting one for the minuet performance drop (if it exists i couldnt notice it)

But to call it chavy when you drive a car well known to be the king of chavmobiles is insane

If anything a dumpvalve and a impreza goes together like pizza and pepperoni

But how are we being hypocritical? You accused us of being hypocrites. Yet you have given no example of how that can be true, yet made up your own analogy to support your incorrect statement, which dosent support the theory of us being hypocrites.

Subarus existed long before the council estate massive bought them.

I was refering to you refering to the ssqv as a "cheap metal valve" and i was correcting you informing you its one of the best on the market if you want to go atmospheric!

I did not make that reference directly to the SSQV, yoiu have just made that up again.

Again, you are missing the point entirely - what does 'being the best on the market' have to do with anything? This is about Atmospheric valves on an Impreza, which is foolish and stupid.

Now, you have been owned multiple times now, probably best to quit now before you make an even bigger spectacle of yourself

I had a forge VTA for a week when I bought mine, drove much better on light throttle with the OEM re-circ, much smoother.

I love the sound of 80's & 90's rally cars, did they all run with blanked dump valves? you could always hear the compressor chirp between gear changes on old school quattro's and impreza's. Early 90's Subaru's made your twinscrolls sound like a leaf blower

Why is that sad? Because i dont rate the air brakes on a bus sound of other dumpvalves but happen to like the ssqv that makes a very unique sound

True you could, but Im interested in the best car, not the best sound. I drive cars, I dont listen to my dump valve with its 'symphonies'

I dont get the whole JDM thing...
I like my scooby to actually sound like a scooby, therefore i'd never want to own a JDM.
Give me a UK burble and a chirpy HKS anyday over a poverty sounding JDM with a dodgy service history that cant even be made out

I love that any petrol head can tell the sound of a UK impreza from a distance.

As for power differences, my UK drives spot on with the HKS SSQV, if anything it drives better than with the crappy mass produced poor quality OEM value on, certainly loses no power, and why would it? The BOV hold the pressure perfectly when boosting, it only dumps when you come off the throttle, so cant even see why people think they make them run badly.

Only crappy / dodgy BOVs that leak on boost build up would do that im sure.

People seem to think that the air dumped unmetered to the ambiant side of the turbo makes a diff in spool even tho its on the complete other side of the turbo were the exhaust gasses are spinning the turbine. Its complete rubbish and the only reason on some cars it makes a difference is because of a sensor on the intercooler side monitoring air

When you have the standard restrictive paper air filter on throttle on that side ov the turbo it makes a noticeable difference but dumping off throttle.. I too would like to be proved wrong!

Dump valves cause over fueling, which in turn causes bore wash which then causes excess fuel in your oil, if the car does not go on regular long journeys to burn this excess fuel in the oil IT WILL KILL YOUR ENGINE.

This is such a homo-erotic thread now.

If you want a BOV dump valve fit it and enjoy it. However, if it kills your engine then I'm sorry for your loss. If it doesn't, excellent.

Between those two nuggets above and the council estate chavs, there is no future for the Impreza unfortunately. Funnily both using atmospheric valves.

Tubbs is still around , he needs to get on this thread.

Comical to say the least though.
