Lots of interesting cars on display, nothing too bad either. Looks like the majority of cars are pretty quality!

Good to see a few metros!

Porsche always seems the natural progression after a Scooby. Wonder why that is?

I tell you what though. It really does feel like the best move, getting into a Porsche, after owning a Scooby for a few years. The running costs aren't as high as people believe and they are quite reliable. Its the solid build and refinement that really wetted my apetite.

^ had an SL55 for a weekend (only !) when I worked at MBUK a few years ago.
It wasn't just the performance - 0-125 was phenomenally smooth, but the brakes which got me - 70mph to stopped in what seemed like 3 car lengths.

Yep, it is a different league to any other car I have driven in terms of both acceleration and retardation

I think it is the originality that is giving them their value now. My second one as mint as it was had BBS kit and BBS wheels as well as a good (for its day) custom ICE set up! The lad who restored his put it back to factory spec and it was that that seemed to add to its value!

Most of these I kept for one year or slightly longer. A few were more long-term, like the Midget, T5 and the Wagon. Favourite beyond these few has to be the Scimitar, beige velour interior and a dash top curlier than Rio Ferdinand's top lip - it was spotless and that engine note was lovely. Not especially quick though and the fibreglass body seemed determined to let water in. But as a GT, very capable indeed for an old motor.

Austin Montego
Austin Metro
LWB Ex Army Defender, canvas back
Golf, 1.4
Classic Mini
Fiat Uno
MG Midget, tuned 1380 A-series block . . .nearly a K series conversion.

Rover Metro
Citroen Xantia
Scimitar (Se6b), 3.0 V6
Mercedes (early 80's) E Class saloon
Audi A2
Jaguar XJ6, 4.0, late 90's vintage
Bought current WRX wagon
Mazda Bongo Camper
Suzuki Vitara
Isuzu Big Horn, SWB
Toyota Hi Lux
Land Rover Freelander 2
