To be honest having seen them on pics of other cars previously neither was i, but once i saw this in the flesh i think it just helps the car look even more mean and finishes the stance off nicely. One of them is a bit broken on the passenger side but gonna get a full replacement set anyway as want the splitter and skirts all matching, cant find all CF so will have to be all matte black.
Seriously, what material are the current ones? I might be interested in taking them off your hands and how broke is the broken one? PM me!

I am the same as you mate, after them in Carbon Fibre, Got my front lip from Storm Motorsport (Xtreme Carbon are the manufacturers) and I contacted them about the full skirt kit and they said they ar hoping to have them on the market later this year.
I think if it is registered early 2006 it qualifies for the lower tax bracket just the same as early hawkeye UK cars..
That would make it £285 per year like the last of the Blobeye's
Like the OP said I think (And heard several people say including an importer) its how / what they are registered as when first come into the UK.
I know when I was considering JDM last year they were all cheaper road tax.
