Angry, White and Proud
Just watched it and I'm left with mixed feelings. On the one hand I feel sorry for Colin and his mates: they're clearly disillusioned and need somebody to put their arm round them and show them other ways to protest against so-called radical Islamism. On the other hand I find what they're doing a bit embarrassing - as per my Britain First thread I feel the 'far-right' have hijacked the flag and the notion of patriotism. They sense something's wrong, but owing to the way they've been socialised they express it in a way that actually undermines their grievance and makes them the villains. They harm the counter-jihadi movement. They're anti-recruiters. Ironic.
It's also frustrating that impressionable, but intelligent young people are pushed to the far-left and end up co-opting Islamist narrative in response to the hate and anger spewed out by Colin's lot. The former end up becoming useful idiots - pawns in a bigger game - their intellect loses out to naiveté and it's the fault of the far-right.
I want to post a bit more about this later, but my dinner's ready.

Football hooligans who need any excuse for a scrap, makes you laugh when they run their group from one members mums house. If they want to fight that much why dont they join the army???
Fine, so we did not hear their politics, you just threw it in the mix - you use same shabby tactics as those daft conspiracy theorist

Unite Against Fascism (abbreviated as UAF) is an anti-fascist pressure group in the United Kingdom, with support from politicians of all mainstream UK political parties, including the current Conservative Prime Minister David Cameron and the late Labour politician Tony Benn. It describes itself as a national campaign with the aim of alerting British society to a perceived threat of fascism and the far right — in particular the British National Party (BNP) — gaining a foothold at local, national and European elections, arguing that "there is a real danger that the BNP could get a significant platform in elected institutions."
It does not sound like the shady Underground far left group you describe

I tell you why? Because on their own, blokes like that are total weeds; look at them all; skinny wretches just like most so called hooligans.
We certainly didn't.
Do I? You seem to be engaging in sophistry with the sentence above.
I just wanted you to point out which particular set of fascists you were referring to. Tatchell sums it up nicely.
It's politically expedient for the centrist parties to endorse UAF.

I thought you'd like that. However the fact remains that the British have been doing some awful stuff around the world whilst spreading the empire. Now you have the audacity to moan when someone gives you a taste of your own medicine.
Food for thought.
So who is right and who is wrong? I know very well it wasn't you or anyone on this forum that committed evil in the name of the empire. So why should I expect a condemnation from you?
Will you British extend this courtesy to us muslims today? Of course there is the left who are the very reason why there is not much terrorism from British Muslims today however will a time come when the left will be the accepted voice without mockery?
Food for thought.

Yes, this was one of the most powerful scenes, when Colin is speaking to the camera at the of the program, sounding wearily disillusioned by it all, and he speaks of powerlessness, poor upbringing, loneliness, feeling marginalised and an outsider - and how the far right gave him a sense of belonging, a family
I am sure if he wrote it all down, his life story, with all the anguish, grim unremitting harshness and loneliness - it would chime with those two French terrorists stories
Substitute him with them, and the far right with radical islam
Different sides of the same coin
