Is it really that difficult to have a discussion without name calling?
And before anyone gets either defensive, or revels in that comment, it's not aimed all at any one individual.
As a mod, perhaps I should have removed posts along the way, but I've been posting on this as a member with an opinion of my own and rightly or wrongly, decided to let it play out untouched. But guys, it's a poor show when you can't just disagree and discuss without getting personal.

Granted, you may not have said that exactly, but in fairness, when you make a comment like the one below and also call for a sport to be banned, I can see why people may take your posts a certain way,

I don't think Football is a sport of the stupid. Recognising it as one is a very narrow minded view of it.

The ones that say- "Don't read it if you don't like it" are just deranged.
Conversation doesn't become spicy and shows off 'all hard' vigour of the fightsome by exchanging insults on a public forum. There're are many other ways one can stimulate the convo and defend their view point; well, unless you have a Football hooligan's mentality to headbutt the ones that say you're wrong or inferior.

This thread has succumbed to the Second Law of Thermodynamics; in the beginning, as this thread was brought into existence, there was order (relatively speaking!) and through entropy and 6 pages in, we now have complete disorder (and way off topic! )

About 'dressing up', not getting personal and not slinging insult at you means 'dressing it up all nicey-nicey' to you, so be it. Some can say what they like without slinging insults at you, you and only you. It's not just you, is it? There are other b7tches as well that need telling.
