If you have been exercising hard, you will have raised your body temperature - hence you will sweat
A simple combination of physics and biology
If you immediately have a hot shower and wash the sweat away, you will simply sweat as you dry off
Obviously showering is better than not, but really you need to cool down naturally, before you shower
And that can take 10/20 mins

Good advice. I own a Gym in Birmingham boxing in one half where I run my amateur boxing club and the other 4000 sqft is a weights/cardio and conditioning gym. It's weird 2 guys can train together one will stink the gym out and the one won't. Some guys can train for 10 minutes and smell like cooked cabbage others are just plain smelly and stink of BO as they haven't showered in days. It's just the way different people are built I suppose. I have only one shower at my gym as I find most lads don't shower at the gym as they go home to shower(well that's what say!) my gym is a bit rough and ready to be fair.

I do like modern exercise machines but also like to see a well stocked free weights room
Yep my gym is certainly old school lots of dumbbells and plate loading machines some good life fitness machines a few runners/ cross trainers fully kitted out boxing gym with a 20ft ring loads of bags etc and that's it. Any of you guys ever around Birmingham feel free to pop in for a brew.

I suppose two things
for every given length/intensity of exercise - fitness factor will come into it
I try and keep fit (running), but in reality when you run with someone who is really fit - they simply don't sweat as much because their body is more efficient
Roger Federer is an amazing example of an athlete who simply does not seem to sweat in the same way as his opponent
and then the simple GIGO (Garbage In Garbage Out) rule, maybe people who eat cheap crap processed junk food, smell more as the stuff oozes out of their body
yes, there seems to be a lot of natural variability with sweat/smell

I have to say there is a difference between the smell of someone who has been exercising and someone who just doesn't wash.
I sweat just walking into the gym to be honest ,maybe just the thought of what im about to do, whereas someone can come into the gym having done nothing and stinks like a polecat because they have not showered for days which is unforgivable really.
Stale sweat is a definite no no .....

Walked through my gym to my office this morning and the gym stank of BO! The funny thing is there was only one person training at the time and I won't name and shame her, she's about 24 years old and can't weigh more than 8 stone but **** me she could clear a Night club! So it ain't just us chaps that can pong a bit even the fairer sex can stink too!

Yep your right.
Used to be a fairly decent looking bird at the gym I go to, aged about 40 ish and she sweat like **** , but she also feckin stunk to high heaven...!!!
Went clay shooting yesterday and the gun smith strolled into the shop, done a lap and went back out to his workshop area.. Fu&k me, he literally stank the bloody shop out with BO! My mate even mentioned it to the guy working the shop and he just said "yeah, I know it's awful"
I'd have to tell him to sort it if he worked for me!
One thing I do wonder is how many people actually wear antiperspirant rather than spraying bloody Lynx on! I don't think a lot of people realise that 'God awful Lynx' won't stop you getting BO.
So, just encase there's people reading this that spray Lynx under their arms, stop! It makes you smell worse! Get some Sure Antiperspirant 48h protection!

Nothing worse than spraying something pungent on to a sweaty body, just helps the smell hang in the air, like folks that spray air freshener in the bog after they've had a dump, makes it smell 1000,000,000 times worse and hang like a cloud of radiation.

Candle in the bog, then as the ozies say, 'strike a light"
Don't see the need for alcohol swabs as well as a shower. Surely the shower gets rid of everything if you clean everywhere properly?
But as hodgy says you need to wait for a bit till you cool down and stop sweating before your shower.
