Ive gone and done it !
Scoobydreamer......have you read the full thread
The man has bought the spec d , which is running plenty of power (was).
This is all about resolving issues with the car and trader , nothing to do with which car is the best

Cheers,

Now grab a can and sit down , read all this and then the Cheshire performance thread....in between screaming at her indoors to keep fetching cold ones through
Tom.
Haha thank you kind sir but to give her her dues she's very good and considering we have a 13 day old baby boy, I'm getting plenty of sleep and she's not making any fuss about having the old colin mcrae tribute DVD and impreza story DVD on most of the time and being on here looking at cars and reading threads so I'm doing pretty well
Tom.
Tom.
Maybe I should point my court claim at this Mike Kirwin, as he sold me the unroadworthy car. He is the sales manager and apparently the director, so he must know more about the cars on his forecourt better than anyone. So he must be responsible for the situation he has put me and my family in,
If Mike Kirwin or Cheshire performance is reading this, thinking I'm committing slander/libel. And you mabye thinking of legal action, think again. I am well within my rights to express my experiences and opinions freely as long as anything I say is not untrue which you(Cheshire performance) and I both know everything I have said is true. 😝
Finally got the car, WOW! it goes. But,There is a problem with the engine, What i thought was a tappet, now transpires to be piston slap, which is strange on an engine that was so recently "forged" I have the sellers 3 months parts and labour warranty but does anyone know who the previous owner was and or who rebuilt the engine. Ive got masses of invoices for parts but none for labour, any help appreciated.
Different forged pistons expand more or less to fit the bore. So have different expansion rates.
What most people ignore with builds. Is that they focus on the builder not on the machinist. And the quality of the machine work counts for just as much as the quality of the build. If the machine work is top draw and time is taken to make sure all the tolerances are bob on then you often get a quieter engine that will use less oil.
Some forged engines I have had have been as slappy as hell and have drunk oil but have consistently made good power once warmed up. So bear that in mind - as yours might be a loose slappy engine without a problem
Does it use oil?
Any smoke at all?
Also re reading the thread it seems it might have a manual boost controller on it. Which unless set up really properly - I would stay well clear off. Is it mentioned in the paperwork, as to who has mapped the car, as it will need to have had this done.
Hope it sorts itself out for you

I hope it goes well for you, I messaged him as he was responsible for putting my kids life at risk but he just put me through to some woman called Ciara on customer services who had my car put through doggy repairs and then a invalid mot as the car is still unroadworthy.

Yes that manual boost controller is really complex to use, i think it had been played with before i got the car, it read some thing about cyl no 4. Is there some easy way to set it to a sort of default setting so that i know its not over boosting.
It looks like BR Developments mapped it and I've got a Red line tuning brochure which might be to do with stand alone ECU.
53, It still has an AVCR. Can you tell me what it does? can i tell what the settings are on it and does it matter any way? Should i just disconnect it? I had a look on the internet, pages and pages on how to set it up, i just wonder if i really need it?
I'm assuming it has a few different settings with the power it's running
Hi Donny, no im not running the car at the moment. I would set to a low boost setting but i don't know how?It seems unnecessarily complex to me. Ive got 2 boost settings on my track car and all i do is press a switch to change maps in the ecu.
full throttle, and press demister.
That toggles between low/high boost - we'll it did on the MY05 remapped cars.
Yes 0.95 is low...however -
How much boost a car is running doesnt necessarily make for safe big power.
Only a good mapper can SEE WHAT THE ENGINE IS DOING and therefore determine how much boost to run through an engine/turbo. Taking into consideration where the weaker spots of the spec are and mapping in some margin of saftey to take those into account.
Often it is down to the compression of an engine.
As a crude principle...
A high compression engine will run less boost - to make power x
A lower compression engine will run more boost - to make power x
All the best Steve
Hi sorry I can not help

As I do not know the car.
BR developments who mapped the car is - Bob Rawle
So that is how I know who mapped it

Bob may well remember the car?
I am doing my online court application online now. I have given them a deadline of midnight tonight to come up with an agreement. They replied to me today saying they had an agreement, I said email it to me so I have it in writing, they haven't replied. So it looks like I have no other choice but to take them to court.
