Ahh. I will see you in the morning.
I've had 3 so far within a week, we try to keep a fast turn around on them and get the effected units sent back asap so we keep a steady cycle going. The jap chassis number was causing me a few headaches as discussed due to being 8 digits shorter. Got there in the end and kept the original appointment.

I would guess not as your hatch won't be affected. Details of affected VINs are here: Impreza airbag recall

Had mine swaped over this morning at Cotswold Subaru, Only took 30min to do.
Spoke to the parts manager and he said there is a back log on the replacement air bags coming through,
They have 50 or so cars booked in for the swap but only getting a the odd air bag turning up due to a massive shortage in the supply, This is mainly due to the fact the part is used by so many other manufactures and there Isn't the supply to go round.
He assured me that the DVLA have been informed and they will be sending out letters to all the owners with the affected cars!
He did also mention that not all the cars in the same model line are affected! So if you don't get a letter don't worry.

Looking at the dvla thingie above am I right in thinking I'm ok unless in the event of a crash? As that's good I never drive it fast or silly enough to have a front end smash and it shouldn't pop out in a rear end shunt if God forbid any1 came into the back?
