Hardly anyone in the stands, and those that were there looked disinterested.

I was at one years ago there and it was when Andy Barnes was racing his Sumo power R34GTR, everyone was on their feet straining for a view of the time and cheering as he passed the line. IIRC that was 'only' a 10 sec pass.

Andy Barnes Sumo GTR was about 1000bhp and had stupid amounts of money spent on it back then, now you can buy a new Nissan GTR straight from the dealer and do a 10 second pass with no driver skill at all.

I think the transmissions on newer cars have really developed over the years, which makes a lot of these new cars faster and it really makes a average driver look good, Shame Subaru are still using the same 6 speed box as first introduced to the Bug STi back in 2001

TOTB is no different, I haven't been for 8 years. I went this year and thought it was a load of garbage. Just another event that's gone down the pan.

On another note well done Andy! I've seen his car a few times this year, including at the castle Combe sprint and it is a superb piece of engineering. Great result

 

What time does Andy need to be the fastest street legal Jap car in the world?

 

What kind of power is E_M_B's old car putting out? I once got a 5 second head start on it at York Raceway and it passed me like an SR-71 with a UC-RB2 up its ***.

I still have the timing slip and vid somewhere.
