Great shame busta, but can't say I haven't had similar thoughts myself...

Mine was up and running, sprung an exhaust leak, and now it's in bits again with a turbo upgrade in progress... Doubt I'll be able to drive it anytime soon.

mate I’ve thought about it a couple times in the 2 years I’ve been building it lol. But I’ve kept going, but now with covid I’m done.
projects need time and money and never end, I don’t have time for that in my life nowadays as it is, I have a 7 year old daughter that I spend time with when not working and at that age they are demanding and building memories, (I never had a farther so I will not give her same as I had, for nothing, hence it’s taken so long with project otherwise I’d of had it done ages ago).

im 40 now, and think I’ve grown out of it tbh, time to get a nice luxury daily/track capable car as planned after this anyway so I can use it on track etc in summers.
id rather go on holidays with family than spend on projects, spent thousands on it with no expense spared on stuff.
i will lose money but that’s this game we’re in anyway.

Totally get those reasons... I turned 40 myself in November, and have a 7 year old daughter too, plus the 2 year old boy.

I never used to want to go on holiday, because they seemed like such a massive waste of money, but it's changed in the last year or so. Cant wait to go somewhere again!

Good luck with the parting of bits - if I didn't know better I'd be interested in your shell, haha

haha snap lol.

yup I crave for holidays now lol, must be getting old and liking the finer things in life, I’m happy to blow 5k easy on a holiday, wasted loads in cars etc so why scrimp lol.
its a lot of money in that car, but hey ho, time to move on.
yes shell but that will be last to go, so won’t be till a while yet, need to research prices of them and double check condition etc, there was a little tiny dent in passenger lower wing near door when I hit bails at blyton lol, and I noticed little bubbles starting on rear arches slightly, which I was going to get done anyway, but excellent shell otherwise. In the best colour too, not Chavy blue hahaha

Such a shame Busta. Don't leave the site at least mate, would be a shame to see you and your experience leave with the Subaru.

Completely understand the reasons behind your decision. Difficult to make but probably sensible. Ironically as my Subaru project is also my daily this stay at home window should actually push me to get various jobs done while the car is grounded and not required on a daily basis for school runs, work etc.

Post a new thread up on the new daily when you get it. Just because it's a Subaru site doesn't mean people won't appreciate or discuss other marques.

Best of luck to you bud.

Busta how you doing mate?I could not believe what i was reading...after all the hard work and money that you have put into it....Its a shame really and i completely understand where your coming from and the situation, especially now with all this uncertainty around the world, but like others have said make sure it is 100% what you want, because you don't want to have any regrets about doing it later on,speaking of my own experience with my project cars over the years I nearly gave up so much times that I cannot even count, but once they are up and running you start to realise what all that personal sacrifice was for and Know for sure that it was worth it.Whatever your final final final decision is all the best mate.SJ.

Hi mate, sorry to hear but can understand it. How is the family and Tez?

Still got my Bug sti, thought of selling it sometimes. I had other beasts and always sold them again. I will be keeping my bug. By the way I´ve got a KW v3, 5 set of rims, roll cage and so on. Last monday it was at tracktoys and remapped again.
Here in Germany it is a rare car and when I get it out you always get a smile of the people here. Last TÜV (Mot) the young engineers asked if they could take photos. With the porsche that doesn`t happen.

Good choice with the F80 M3 is it a CS?

regards

thanks for the kind words, I’m pretty busy as I run a online business too so not much time for forums, I have enough of internet daily lol.
but yeah when I’m bored I’ll try pop my head in from time to time, but I havnt in a while really as last time I was on here too many idiots do my head in and think they know better etc and trolls etc etc, forums was dying to me back then, not sure if it’s simmered down here now. And Facebook although I’m on there, all them bloody groups, every ****** is a specialist do I don’t bother with them either, I’ve tried giving advice in past and all you get is someone that knows better, not my car so **** em I don’t bother at all.
im busy enough tbf.

mate I know, lot of money, very careful planning etc etc, the car would be a proper beast at 9.0.1 compression, with the head build etc and turbo it would of been a very rapid car, that’s kept me going, already thought about it twice before (think I posted on here I was gonna break lol, then I changed my mind and carried on).
it was all ready to rock n roll to fit everything, was just waiting on Tim to get a fiesta wrc Subaru running gear set up (may have see it on AET Dyno on Facebook page) finished up and then was gonna use that guys garage to do mine after, which was actually planned for this week or next over Easter holidays it would be up and running ready for some much needed seat time.
well that’s now truly cancelled due to covid etc which will go on for months so wouldn’t be on road for summer as planned.
my plan was to finish it and have some fun in it over summer just because I needed to see/feel what I’ve built, and sell up maybe over winter or early next year and retire anyway as don’t get much fun car time anyway.
so I decided to just quit now and get on with my original plan but without testing the Subaru, yes I’ll regret it not knowing, but I can blame covid for that.
the engine got sold instantly while I was speaking to Tim about it, his work boss paid for it straight away as he knew what spec it was and he uses Tim also so engine went before I’ve even listed anything so no going back now.

hey mike, very long time, glad to see your still about. Yes I still see Tez as he’s my brother in law unfortunately lol so I’m stuck with the c8nt haha.
cant believe you still got that, well done.
taking of KWs, I have a set of Gucci Clubsports on car which will be listed at some point, but I’m taking my time with it because I simply don’t have time for a full on car breaking threads etc so I will list stuff but at a time that suits me. Oh and some mint spec c BBS rims with brand new AD08R on too.
just keep an eye on sales threads lol.

and hopefully I can stretch to a CS for sure, but my aim is 16 onwards lci as you can get gts software on box may anyway etc

Dude I’d own you in my audi estate ffs, you can’t drive for **** lol.
you can have a high bhp car vs a low bhp car, I and I’d still whoop ya, it’s about putting the power down, you can only go so fast round a corner lol.

but when I’ve sold all bits on Subaru I’ll have a 420hp stock car lol, oh stage 1 hmmmmm

We’ll end of this thread for me, was a great project that kept me busy for a while but decision was made. Car has mostly been broke and gone now. (I’ve given the new owner my Facebook blog to keep the progress going with shell).

sold my daily and now got this, picked it up last weekend. A great all rounder that does everything I need for a daily, track, toy, family car etc.
Competition pack with 9k miles and plenty of extras, 3D cameras, Apple car play carbon extras, ghost ll etc etc.
still learning it’s charistics lol.

hahaha, try a real driver then you might struggle lol.
it can certainly go round corners quicker than a Subaru, straight line speed compared to a highly modded scoob then I can’t say same, but I’m not modding it due to warranty. But 444hp is quick enough out the box

Hello corky, they are really good and fast. My son bought one last week😀😀 in blue metallic.

Fast enough, there will always be some one faster.

My nephew has got a amg c63 with 617 ps, there again I like that as well. It's the 4 liter bi-turbo.

My bugeye is still running and it has not seen rain since i bought it😀.

I still enjoy it for trackdays😀

Hi mike.
yes amg not a real drivers car imo, they don’t go round corners lol, nice engine and sound really not my cuppa.
of course always someone faster but you can’t drive a car fast if you got no skill so just ***** waving tbh.
and yes lol, you will never get rid of that scoob hahaha,
hope ya keeping well.

and thanks Jedi
