Hi corky, really like your classic and looking forward to see how it go´s on. hopefully your family is ok :-)
I loved my classic and still have got Tez`s impreza ;-)
Porsche itch is gone
Regards
Mike
Oh hello mike, been a while, hope you're well and had a good xmas.
Blymey you still got that car, how's it running? Running more power or same?
And thanks, good to see your still about
yes still running good, done a few modifications and yes more power.
Mostly track running and sometimes I think about selling it but everytime I get to sit back in the car and drive it I say to myself no way
I really like your 2 door
regards
Mike
Hahahaha hard to beat hey.
What's it running now?
Funny enough, Tez has now just recently come back and bought a Jdm twinscroll blobeye.
And thanks, slow but enjoyable project, just saving up for a new built engine for mine now when family life and funds allow.
got a gt35 and not to laggy, easy to drive, still no oil consumption. over 500 . But a classic with over 400 is brilliant, loved my old classic with 360 . Good work so far from you . I myself find around 450 for a newage on normal roads good enough, no Need for more. A classic is a monster with that
Agree, I don't think I will see 500 in my classic tbh, but around 450 as before with a bit of meth. Just I'm getting engine built to cope with more and then it's just a turbo change if I need it
Yes the new ages refine the power smoothly and can feel like they can cope, but a classic can be a bit scary lol, especially type r rear biased can snap lol.
My mate works for Manthey Racing (Porsche Nurburgring) and builds engines and when it goes it will be a rebuild with a 22 block and 2,35
Driving with a classic is like you wrote more rear end snap but I loved that. The newage I find is more neutral
Hahaha, oooh you going all out with big build can't believe that engines still going strong.

lol exactly the colour is not exactly popular. I was going to paint it tbh but thinking of all the stone chips it will occur. May as well leave it as it is, that way I can't be too **** over condition
I should of got it sorted about now (its a new 2.1 motor i want, pulled old engine out already and is now empty up front)
Thing is financially it didn't go well for me this time as other stuff always ***** me up so kind of upset about it, not sure if im fed up or do i just throw the towel in.
Its just how im feeling right now as dont know when i can afford it now as its months off if I decide to carry on with it, depressing just seeing it and cant fix it due to financial flow.
Need to think on it
If you dont need to sell the car then if it was me i would keep it and fix it when you can, Its a project mate and will give u something to tinker with.
Sell the daily and buy an old ****er, problem solved

Ooooohh, sell the daily I love that too, hard to replace that as they quite rare I'd miss it too much, I can't downgrade that
But it would deffo free up some cash though 10k and buy something for 5k = 5k to subaru yeah
Ive just done the opposite and upgraded my daily. The daily ive had for the last 12 months cost me £400 (406 hdi estate se model 2003) which ive just sold for £300 after a car had rolled into it damaging the bonnet. Ive now upgraded to a 2005 focus tdci (1 previous owner) for £500.
Ill px you my brembo's for your AP's, Thats a set of heads sorted If you do decide to split it let me know first
I don't need heads, nice try though.

Deffo mate and a much better set up. Bargain at that price for the miles they had done. Basically Archie "ran them in" for you
Hahaha, deffo a bargain
Tbh I messaged Archie when he mentioned it on his project thread and says he's waiting for his new ones to arrive and then he's ready, so I said ok cool let me know so I can have first refusal.
Month or so later, he pmd me ready, but unfortunately I was lack on funds then as usual, so I said I can't afford them ATM so just list them instead, I was gutted.
I kept watching the sale thread without bumping it lol as I dint want to attract it, but seeing it being potentially selling was nervraking lol.
So as nobody had bitten so far, I was near in getting some funds sorted, so I messaged him and we sorted it.
So after all that time, I still ended up with them, so I suppose it was meant to be lol and has lifted my spirit back up with the car
Now I need to start saving again for short motor

RATHER lucky as I was literally so close to buying this bargain!! I only stopped myself because I'm currently paying for my engine to be rebuilt!
Had a spare hour or two after work so decided to make a start fitting them, only managed to put the fronts on in the time I had, I'll fit rears another day.
Well pleased with them,
Anybody want to buy my old tien crap coilovers? They have upgraded hard *** swift springs and adjustable top mounts also.
Finally fitted the Gucci suspension yesterday, it was a pain getting to the rear top hats with all the car parts in there and no reclining seats lol.
What I have noticed is the rear suspension have a lot longer perch/body, took old ones off and just slid nicely out of hub, put new ones on and had to compress the shock as it was longer to get the hub bolts in, strangely the rear tyres looks like it's going to rub the arch, now because the cars not mobile I'm wondering if it's because it's such a longer perch than before, when putting car back on ground the hub is still at positive camber and may need driving to set back the hub from being at such a positive camber while in the air?
What do you think?
I have put the rear top plates at max negative. (More in towards car) or I hope I haven't put the top plates on wrong lol, but I believe the rears are both sided, it's the fronts that are sided only which I believe I've got correct, I don't see a issue up front tbh as the wheel clearance and angle is fine. (But the front suspension are not as tall compared to the rears I've changed.
Maybe I'm a bit worried before letting it sit correctly when it's not mobile ATM.
Any opinions to make me feel at ease?
