Pretty sure it was the wishbone ball joints.

i feel the pain. I too have the dreaded knocking. Just ordered new drop links and ball joints. Glad you got it sorted tho, must be a common problem.

A month ago, I had the car into a local indy garage to do the timing belt and asked him to have a look but he said I had done all the things that he would normally suggest - the only possibilty was that it may be faulty new struts (which I have now ruled out) or the lower wishbone balljoints.

But he said he could not feel any play when he tried it with the pry bar - so do I risk spending more money and time on this job.....

As I said to a mate of mine the other day - I don't mind spending time fixing cars, I don't even mind spending money fixing cars - as long as it fixes them.....

So far - Scooby 5 : Roo 0
