Trouble is when a JDM blob/hawk come up for sale you got to be quick as they get snapped up straight away as they are a desirable model, maybe the over priced ones take a bit longer to shift, but cheaper examples like this I would be very suprised if its still for sale after the Bank Holiday!!!
I done the same deposit of £200 going by a few pictures and it was 338 mile away but was WORTH it, I now own a lovely spec c

So if it's a UK car, why does it say it's imported? Looks like a UK car from the pics to me.

In all seriousness I share your frustration at the repeated questions despite the fact you've told them 5 or 6 times

If it was JDM car then I'd say that's a good deal, but as it's the more desirable UK car.... it is a UK one isn't it? Pity it's not a hatch

It's a JDM with a 2.5 Engine, HKS Mushroom filter, Bailey blow off valve and Japspeed tin Exhaust and it was mapped by Dave from the pub. The most desirable. It dosent get much better than that.

Undoubtedly someone is.
Tho' tbh not sure who actually is "thick":
  • Ad says 'Type UK 2006 ...imported from new'.
    If it's a type UK it might be imported but it can't be 'an import'.
    Ad doesn't say it's an import - does it?
  • It says "owned from new".
    It's obviously been "owned from new" - every car becomes "owned from new" !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  • "LOOKING FOR SWAP FOR BMW - AUDI TO THE SAME VALUE".
    I wouldn't be. £ for £ a Subaru is far better value for money.
    So what BMW or Audi 'machine' would you get for £8K ?????
So, perhaps seller doesn't know a JDM from a UK - fine.
However, they know what they paid for it, and no doubt know if any work is required, and probably have a head for economics.

Btw, if it's a '2006' why:

a) is it a blob;
b) does it have an 05 reg?

Got a JDM Hawk that has a 55 reg.
  1. Get the VIN;
  2. determine exactly what it is;
  3. deduce from the price if it might need work done - remember, if it looks to good to be true, it probably is.
Finally, how much would it take to make a type UK look like a JDM?
Presumably the rear wiper/window would be the most expensive?

Looks like there might be a red bulb in o/s reverse light. My jdm has had one of the reverse lights nicely modified into a fog

It's amazing how many threads we have that are caused by 'strange' adverts.
I always thought the art of advertising was to answer as many questions as possible before they're asked, not create as many as you possibly can

Anyway, good luck op and PLEASE let us all know the outcome

It amazes me that on the same day you advertise a car that they are not available to answer the phone or emails or texts? Very strange carry on! I'm dying to know the outcome now,,is it or isn't it ? Will we ever find out the real answer

As suggested earlier, pistonheads may not have a blob jdm category so when going through the process of advertising the seller may of had no choice other than said description.
