Classic or Newage?
Some people may say that if they could have a classic or a UK newage, they would say classic. But if the choice was between a classic or a JDM newage, then they may say newage.
Depends on how they interpret the poll I guess!
Quite fancy a hatch STi twin scroll next, but would look like i will have to import one myself, been checking the jap auctions at the moment to get a idea of the prices and they seem to be at a reasonable price compared to the UK spec you get over here!!!
Got to be grey though!!!

Looks like you can now invest in Futures in cars.
Think I'll chuck one on E-bay:
'Arriving in 7 years, the very latest Subaru model, better than their UK crap'.

So:
- If you're a Subaru afficionado you know all about JDM, twinscroll etc.
- If you're not, then wtf is 'twinscroll turbo", "stronger revised internals" etc ?
classic jdm for looks and outright blast.
Been in newage and did feel more stable/refined but not same feeling of speed, too much of halfway house for me.
Supplemented classic with FXT, great all rounder. More refined/softer than classic for longer journeys and to take winter punishment. Attract slightly less attention but not immune . Not fast as stock but a few not very expensive mods and its double the stock power. Feel like 17 again driving it spiritedly and thats excluding the odd trier.

Op asked a question, and fwiw has elicited a good crop of answers, stimulated a bit of debate etc.
The only reason that you can deem it "flawed" is that in your opinion op has asked the wrong question.
But it's impossible to ask a wrong question.
If you think about it that is.
Erm..... the question can't be "flawed".

I drive a Forester STi. If I sold it to buy another Subaru I would buy, most likely, a JDM Twinscroll Legacy... so how can I vote in the poll/answer the question on that basis?
Seems flawed to me, but then I have a chip on my shoulder because loads of people think Subaru start and finish with the Impreza.
I think they do newage and classic versions of most Subaru so I would say you are quite within your rights to vote.
If the legacy you were to buy would be the classic then vote classic......please vote classic,,we are losing

Ah, so you're saying it's flawed because it doesn't cover everything Subaru?
But op's not asking that.
They're asking if you sold YOUR Subaru would you buy a 'classic or newage' which in fairness means Impreza.
I'd infer from that the op meant 'if your sold your Subaru Impreza......'
However, if I was a tad annoyed that SN members often forget the other models I'd like to think I would have posted something like "neither, since they're incompatible with the Forester I own".
And fwiw, tho' I've never been - and never likely to be - in that situation I can understand wagon, Forester, Legacy etc. owners being a bit narked that although they are members of the scooby-owning community, SN appears to be centred on Imprezas.

Unfortunately, the Legacy would be a mid-2000's version, so probably 'Newage' if applying the Impreza MY equivalent.
I also have a blobeye in the family, so don't think I'm likely to help you I'm afraid.

I couldn't see an option for "neither" on the vote.
My post was trying to make the point you made, but I phrased it in a different fashion which I realise now fell short as it was the buying side where it fell down.It is frustrating that other cars get forgotten, because there are some excellent non-Impreza Subarus... especially these days as the WRX STi has dropped the name. There are no quick Imprezas rolling out of the factory now to my knowledge, so a change will have to come at some point!

Yes, that's exactly my point, which was why I said in my initial post that the question should say "Impreza" and noted other Subarus are available.
I couldn't see an option for "neither" on the vote.
