Well after a chat with Scoobyclinic, I have decided to opt for the SC42. It seems these turbos hold their values pretty well so upgrading it in future should be easy enough when the time comes.
Good choice. I went for an SC42 billet a few years back.
The 42+ I can't speak for but mines running on a newage 2.0 widetrack STI standard block.
On ECUTek it made 420/375 no issues, and on Alcatek running 1.55 bar it's doing 440/390.
On meth I'm hopeful it'll see 480 with a 20% meth mix and that's fine for a daily driver as far as I'm concerned! Drivability wise spool and pick up seem easily as good as an OEM car running a TMIC on the road; my mate's widetrack proves that lol
