I'm struggling to see how this counts as a valid reply

It beats the hell out of a lot of what's been posted in this thread so far, although that isn't saying much.

This. I know most of my latter posts have been off topic and of little substance in relation to the subject matter. However it's all getting a little ' he said she said'. We can all have our little rants but in the grand scheme of things it matters little.

Some of your own posts have been "he said, she said". Then as soon as someone ask for evidence over a pretty serious accusation, which you then proceed to ridicule and joke about it, a few posts later you try to claim the whole thread is getting off topic and poorly debated.

While I do think some of your posts do contain valid detail (with a lot of wild accusations thrown in), just because others are not coming round to your argument (some never will - accept it), then you try to ridicule the whole debate? Great way of looking at this!

The debate can carry on with or without my contribution. Quite frankly I don't give a ****. There's unlikely to be consensus on this matter, especially on a forum. The specifics of the whole Israel/Palestine issue are interpreted differently dependant on which side of the fence you stand.
There are some members who I'm indifferent to, I don't really care what they think. They are of no substance to me, they may think likewise of me, I don't really care. My response to them may on occasion may be banal, childish and subjectively funny. So be it.
There are other members whose opinions I value, their insight I try to understand. They are the wheat, they're not simply making posts for the hell of it. They are people with depth and honesty. My own opinion is after eighteen pages of debate and discussion, I couldn't be 'arsed' anymore. I concede that's a failing on my part but as I said so be it.
Ultimately 'cooperation will redeem mankind' but I'm not sure it'll be in my lifetime.

Trouble is Maz that no matter which side of the debate you stand on I can't understand anyone being willing to accept the amount of needless killing of civilians including women and children,. It is people's (including the politicians) repeated failure to do anything more than say tut tut over this side of the whole conflict that gets on my nerves so much.

I have limited time for Baroness Warsi, but her disgust over George Osborne's failure to use his close ties with Israel to even attempt to use them to stop some of this killing is well placed! Seems the UK government likes a bit of Muslim bashing like much of its indigenous population!

Civilian casualties are mere collateral damage.

I wonder just how many Palestinians in Gaza would if they were allowed to move to the West Bank and away from Hamas control.

Again if Israel wants to weaken Hamas then moving those civilians in Gaza who wish to leave for the 'safer' West Bank surely works to Israel's advantage.

With what's left in Gaza (i.e. not a lot) there must be many Gazans who would jump at the chance to move to the West Bank.

Problem is it's evident Israel isn't interested in weakening Hamas other than flattening Gaza and killing anyone who happens to be in the way, not coming up with non lethal ways to deal with Hamas.

You're hardly going to find level ground with Shaid given your exchanges over the years.

You seem to be condoning what Shaid said. I'll repeat it, just so there's no misunderstanding:

A bit like Christianity is occupied by Peado's right?
If I or anyone else had said the same thing about Islam there'd be uproar. Christians are commanded to turn the other cheek!

Not condoning anything, don't put words in my mouth. Shaid does get fiery and defensive but that's his call not mine. You can't deny historically that the Christian faith hasn't had issues with paedophilia.

It's undeniable that a minority of Catholic priests have certainly degraded Catholicism, but paedophilia isn't written in to the New Testament, there isn't a model for marrying 6 year olds, for example.
