Really liking the look of the new saloon and may have to invest in one. Any issues or faults? Or are you all happy owners?

Thought it was time I posted a pic of my slightly different '15 STI, and now my 5th "Impreza"...

Out with the old and in with the new...

Found some nice roads for running it in...

Very pleased with the performance on snow

Spec is the Swiss "Luxury" version and comes standard without a spoiler (lip spoiler is an option). Also standard fit are the sun roof, leather seats and door panels, heated front seats, 8 way electric drivers seat, fog lights, keyless entry and start, Sat nav with Harmon-Kardon amp & speakers (great audio/**** navi!).

Picked it up at the beginning of October last year, so had a few months to get used to it and absolutely love it. The first Scooby since my RB5 that I don't feel needs any handling upgrades (for road use). My hatch was PPP'd, but despite the 30PS/70NM drop in power, it doesn't feel any slower - They've saved a bit of weight and the mapping is somewhat improved since the 08 car - Will be looking into a modest power upgrade come the spring!

Me too! That was the main reason I ordered the Swiss spec as it wasn't available in Germany without the Wing. Luckily I've got a great dealer over here that puts in the effort to get me what I want

Thanks

These two pictures are taken on the Furka pass in Southern Switzerland:

The first shot is looking down the Rhone valley with the Grimsel pass going up to the right. The second is just at the top of the pass with the mountains behind.

This shot is then from the other side of the Grimsel pass:

The above shots were taken when the car was just a week old. I took an autumn long weekend trip down to Lake Como in Northern Italy, taking in the old Spluegen road, then over the St Bernardino pass and returning via the old Gottard pass road, the Furka pass, Grimsel pass and the Bruenigpass. Took it all quite easy while running the car in, but slower pace gave me chance to take in the spectacular views! My original plan was also to take in the Susten pass rather than the Bruenigpass, but it was getting a little late in the day, so I decided to save that one for another road trip

The final picture was taken in the village of Stuben in western Austria (part of the St. Anton ski area) during a ski weekend in January.

I'd parked up on the Saturday morning, then cleared the snow from the boot lid after skiing that had fallen that day. This photo was then taken on Sunday morning with the snow that had fallen over night on the boot. You can see a bit of a bump on the back windscreen with the difference where I'd cleared the evening before. In total about 1 1/2 ft fell in 24 hours!

They always give us lower spec'd models, both my Euro old MY06 WRX and MY08 STI were the same, both had a few nice extras that their UK equals did not have!

They also weren't an option in Germany! That's one of the reasons I went for the Swiss spec. Would have been nice if I could have an electric passenger seat too, after all thats the seat that will get moved the most!

In fairness, I can kind of understand why they don't offer all options in all countries; the importers have to order the cars in advance and order the spec they think they can sell most of at a reasonable price point for their market. Any options that are not dealer fit are not offered by the importers. It would be nice if they offered us the choice to fully spec the car if we're willing to accept a longer delivery time though!

Indeed! We did get the keyless entry/fog lights as standard and nav as an option, so why not include the seating option? nuts. Sunroof is a bit of a meh with me, i prefer cars without them, plus the UK doesn't get enough sun to warrant one so i understand that being omitted.

The electric seat is nice, but its not really a deal breaker IMHO. Given a choice between keyless entry and the electric seats, I'd rather have the keyless entry.

With the Sunroof, its also not an option in Germany and is standard fit on the Swiss luxury model, so the choice was eather sunroof, electric seats, navi, keyless entry/start and fog lights or not! (or a German spec without sunroof, seats and with a spoiler). I could have taken or left the sunroof TBH, but now I have it I'm quite happy - last time I had a sunroof on a car was a Ford Escort back in '97!

When they raised the spec for the MY11 Saloon, they struggled to sell many due to the exchange rate making it relatively expensive.
I think the new model was specced to a cost of under £30K, and the better exchange rate and maybe help from Subaru on pricing, has kept it there.
