Thats a bit chixken and the egg isnt it?

How dd the raved about mappers learn? Do you have any experience of mapping cars?

Cheers

who says they have learned? lol

i dont have the experiance, i have asked plenty of questions to understand whats involved and the proccess, but my lack of knowledge and experiance is why i leave it to the pro's

when it works as it should then it's not that hard to learn, its when things go wrong or unexpected things happen when settings are changed that the experiance comes into it.

Maps vary wildly from car to car with scoobs, a map from one doesnt work on another so be carefull what you do and to what cars

If you struggle to find software to work with the 1.3 tactrix give us a shout as the latest stuff doesn't always work with 1.3

Have you got an older version or a link for it?

Can you confirm its the proper cable and what does the extra block do?

I think John hits the nail on the head when he refers to taking a standard car with a standard map and tweaking from there. I make small adjustments and then log data to see where I am heading. I don't think you need to be sat with a mapper to learn, you just need to know how to interpret the data you see. I tinkered with my last classic and even though I thought I had made some good progress with a leaner mixture, more ign and a little more boost I saw a drop in airflow.

I for one fully expect to destroy my current engine at some stage. Eggs and omelettes.

It's for plugging into the flash connector block on the wiring looms on evo's, scooby's have a different type of flash connector blocks.
