Agree with the "what's an Impreza" remark.

Thumbs up

Another one here in IT. We've got three or four in the car park at the moment. The best bit is winding up all the sales guys in their Boxster's

Don't know what it is, but the Impreza's always seem to have been an IT thing.

Chris (BTW there's no such thing as being paid too much money...)

Its OK, I know what IT means. In fact working in IT is my dream job. Sure beats working for a living.

Another one in I.T.
Maybe it's because lots of us are or have been into computer games (including lots of driving games) over the years and so always aspired to all the fast cars we 'drove' when we were young. The Scoob gives us one of the best real driving game experiences for reasonable money these days and so that's why we own one. Maybe. Probably some truth in it for me anyway...

Sorry to sound a flash git, but as an IT contractor, i reckon myself and several colleagues have scoobies because we can afford them, afford the costs of insurance and the hi cost of fuel. We are in a well paid sector. Therefore we buy them.

Also, your asking people to comment on a WEB forum - what do you expect? Most people here have some IT link!!!

I think the speed thing relates to us playing to many action / driving games at home!!!!

And we think they make our **** look much, much bigger ( )!!!!

By the way, i think its safe to put the "IT people are all geeks with no social skills" cliche in the closet for now - its a bit old hat. We are just normal people who earn a decent living. If we are inteligent enough to recognise that IT is a well paid sector and move into it, we must have at least something about us.

Saying that, there are some seriously sad anoraks out there.....!!! What does Pete Lewis do???????

How can anyone post on the web and at the same time slag IT people off! Your using IT you techy!!!

Cool

Yet another self confessed IT Scoobster ...

Was even inspired to buy the car after end less hours of whooping my buddies on Playstation's Gran Tourismo in the STi.

And yes working in IT does offer the benefits of lightning fast internet access from work and home ... why do you think we're on this BB all the time.

DOH gotta go .... customer connection gone down .... telnet ... tracert ... ping !!!!

Hey, I'm a programmer in the same building as 300 others... How many of those aren't nerds ? (Ok, they dress better tham they did 5 years ago)... 5% or so. Most of the others have exactly the image we are stereotyping here.

It's true that IT has become more business and less "passion", but most of people aren't good at both... Relational people have little patience for the computer nerdiness... Most of the people good at both are real quick at rising in the "food chain"...

So, the image is improving, but nerds are still the majority :-)
