plus have around 3.25 litres of vg nic from darkstar at £30 a litre just in case the new regs get heavily enforced-think I'm sorted for the next few years.
currently running 3 crown tanks on high vg so no leaks etc-is the cloudbeast that much better? Temptation etc etc
cheers Richie
The TPD regs are going to get enforced, so you've done the right thing I also use Darkstar for nic.

You will only be able to buy nic shots @18mg in 10ml bottles after May. Which isn't too bad you can buy 10 bottles or whatever each time, but it will be a lot more expensive.

Of course there's always the black market

Yup the tfv8's are much better than the Crown for flavour n clouds, but they will double your juice consumption at least.

Thinking about going for the OBS V tank,I rated the v3 and still use it but want something bigge, the new OBS also takes the tfv8 coils so I should be able to use the rba I got

I want to get a new tank, which should i go for out of the ones below ?

Smok TFV8, Smok TFV8 Big Baby Beast or the Smok TFV8 Baby Beast ?

Also what coils for the above, best ohm to use for flavour etc ? More flavour is my main aim, just want a step up from the Uwell Crown Tank which is my current tank.

Baby is 3ml so too small, you will be refilling it all day.
Big baby is 5ml and my daily now, love it so far.
Regular TFV8 is 6ml but the coils are massive (and expensive) so it's a bit much for an all day vape as you have to put at least 100W through it.

I used the X4 0.15ohm coils mostly as they were reasonably priced and almost as good as the more expensive T6/T8 coils. You can get 5packs quite cheap from Fasttech (see below).

Flavour n clouds are awesome and in a different league to the Crown that i had before too and definitely a step up imo, big baby keeps on giving, unlike the Crown which fades after a few days. I use the RBA in the big baby now and it's just as good as any of the coils.

All of the tfv8 tanks are very thirsty compared to the Crown, i've doubled my juice consumption. But it's not a big deal if you DIY.

Note: FT are in China so delivery times are usually a week, but you won't get the coils cheaper anywhere else.

You should also have a look at the Cleito 120 tanks, they get rave reviews, but i've not tried one

Bio, i'll take your advice and go for the Big Baby Beast, is this the right one as it looks too cheap, most places seem to be around £25 - £32.

https://www.ukecigstore.com/smok-tfv...baby-tank.html

Or i could get it from the website you recommended above as that's where i'll get the coils from

Yep that's the one, price is right coz that's only for the gunmetal or silver one. The other colours are more expensive.

FT is cheaper especially for the different coloured ones.

Bio

I've just been doing a bit of research on Fasttech, it's a bit worrying that a lot of people are saying that they sell fakes and clones and not to touch them with a barge pole etc.

Just type into google "Fasttech fake" or similar, what's your experiences.

Fasttech are ok, just make sure it says "authentic" , they have a large customer base and no less reputable(if thats the right word!) than other chinese super stores.

It's getting ridiculous , lets hope the ones who buy it know to use matched cells. It's too bulky for me, actually pondering another mod but struggling on what. Might even go back to single cell with the vapour shark . Just of better quality .... Will wait and see what else comes out for now, has to be comfy to hold!

That Kanger brick above will have it's drawbacks.

1. It's made by Kanger
2. It will be like carrying a dumbell around
3. You'll need 10 18650 batteries for it, 5 for current use, 5 fully charged spares
4. You'll need at least a 5 slot 18650 charger
5. Its made by Kanger
6. It's made by Kanger

The Smok TFV8 baby Beast that i ordered turned up this morning, i've been using it for most of the day. Boy can this thing drink juice lol, it's like dunking a hob *** into a cup of tea, then looking into your cup after only to find out that the hob *** has drunk half your tea. It's similar with this tank, a few drags and you can clearly see the level dropping.

It looks a great tank though, so far the vape has been brilliant, the flavour reproduction is well above my Uwell Crown tank, it's really nice to use.

I'll deffo have to get into making my own juice to keep this tank happy, any pointers on the best way to start making your own juice will be appreciated. Is it best to start off with pre mixed stuff where the VG and PG are already pre mixed then add your own nicotine, as i say any advice and links will be appreciated on where to buy the stuff.

It's a great tank The coilheads and airflow kick ***. RBA is great too. It keeps on giving out the flavour where the Crown just faded after a week or so.

Doesn't matter to much on the basemix, i use to buy PG and VG separately, but now i use a 70/30 VG/PG mix from Lucemill in bulk, saves having to mix it together
http://www.lucemill.com/chemical.html

Nicotine, buy lots if you can due to the TPD, from Darkstar;
http://www.darkstarvapour.co.uk/shop...re=darkstar_en

For the flavour concentrates it's probably best to get premixed recipes or one-shots to begin with, then you'll have something nice to vape straight away. Again Darkstar, i rate their flavour concentrates;
http://www.darkstarvapour.co.uk/shop...t-concentrates

Or Vampire Vape, more expensive, but they stock heisenberg and pinkman etc;
https://www.vampirevape.co.uk/e-liqu...centrates.html

Ok ingredients done, now you can either mix by quantity or weight.

By quantity you will need syringes with 14gauge blunt needles to pull the VG.

I started mixing by quantity but now do it by weight (it's quicker, less messy) you will need some scales. I use this;
Amazon Amazon

Nitril gloves are a must when handling the nic.

Get some bottles 10ml, 15ml, 30ml etc to test your mixes. And bottles for the VG/PG mix if you buy from lucemill. I use a 250ml one.

250ml HDPE Plastic Bottle 24mm 410
24mm 410 Natural Nozzle & Twist-Off Top

Then plug in what you need to mix into an online calculator like this one. Loads of decent apps for your phone too.

Example for a 70/30 VG/PG 6mg nic 10ml mix with one flavour @20%

That's superb and i really appreciate you taking the time to post that. I'll look into your links more closely tomorrow and get my head around what you've posted, i'll take your tip on stocking up with nicotine, how long can you store it for, use by date etc ? Is it better to get Nicotine in a PG or VG base ?

No worries.

Lasts ages, months, a year, if it starts changing colour it's time to use it. But you can also freeze it, i get mine in VG as it gives a bit of a smoother vape, personal preference neither is better than the other. PG based nic lasts slightly longer than VG based when put in a freezer.

As you are starting out i would just get the 500ml bottle, it will last ages anyway. If you want to mix larger quantities that's when you'll need more.

So I got one-£22 on amazon prime-running it at 80w ATM on the 8 coil head and couldn't be more happy.
The white Kbox 200 seems to be a different software to my others-much faster ramp up and 'reboots' at every battery change
the others just carry on without the Kangertech boot logo.
thinking of ordering another (or 2) to replace my crowns.

Does anyone have any ideas what is happening with my Smok Big Baby Beast.

The kit comes with 3 coils, one is an RBA and the other 2 are pre made colis at various wattages.

The first coil i primed correctly as far as i'm aware, i soaked the top of the coil, i soaked the inside of the coil and rolled it around so the juice went all around the inside and i soaked the outer holes. I then left the coil soaking in a full tank for 1 hour. Before i used it i took a couple of drags without using the fire button to pull the juice through. The first coil was rated 30 -70w with a best range of 45 - 60w.

I started off low at 25 watts and slowly over a period of time increased the wattage by just 2 watts each time, i don't chain drag so i left plenty of time between each fire. Once i got upto 50 watts i stayed there and went no further, the drag was superb, the flavour was great. Towards the end of the second day i started to get burnt type dry hits, this was really odd as i never let the tank drop below half way so that the coil was always covered in fluid.

The taste started to get horrible, most drags were this awful burnt taste. Obviously i couldn't carry on with that coild so i put the other coil in that came with it. I repeated the process above doing exactly the same and staying well within the sweet spot of the recommended wattage on the coil. The same thing happened again on the 2nd day, i started to get a burnt taste on the drags, the fluid was never below half way and the coil was always covered in juice.

Any ideas as to what's going on ? I did a bit of reading on google and quite a few people have reported similar, some say the cotton is too tightly packed into the atomisers and it struggled to soak through resulting in dry hits, others say it could be down to using too sweet a fluid or too thick a fluid.

I'm using 80VG/20PG and the flavour is a kiwi fruit/tropical fruit type flavour.

Yea i've heard about this happening with some coils, but not had the issue myself, the ones i used from the kit lasted 3 weeks and others were good, but i use the RBA now. I use 70VG/30PG juice.

Basically this issue is caused by the cotton not wicking properly, so ***** some tiny holes with a needle in the cotton through the juice slots, don't overdo it, but it can help.... sometimes.

Cheers Bio, so it's probably nothing that i'm doing wrong with other people reporting the same.

I tried the needle on the 2nd one after reading online that it could be down to the cotton being too tightly packed in and it struggling to wick, putting some tiny holes into the cotton, it did the same as the first one so that had no effect.

I was really enjoying it for a couple of days, great flavour and a nice drag then all of a sudden nothing but burnt tasting hits. I hope the coils i've got on order from the place you recommended are better than the ones in the kit, i'm hoping so as you've had very few problems if any at all. It's such a nice drag and flavour when they are going well, i love the top fill system on this tank, just slide the door open and away you go

Yea not had a single problem mate, you could try changing your mix ratio maybe, that might help if the coils from FT are poop too, i'm sure they will be ok though.

On a similar subject the coils in the regular TFV8 tank i won, all the pins were sticking out and the o-rings weren't in the right place. So they would have leaked like a bitch without some tweaking. I've not yet come across anyone who makes consistent and good coilheads lol. Another reason to build your own in the RBA
