I do like those Smok's, they have loads of settings, some of them even have bluetooth for firmware updates and a bit naff, flashing led's down the side when you fire it. But look at the size of the thing, its huge.

Like the look of the TFV4 Mini as it will sit flush with my subox.

Just don't fancy spending £100 on vape gear just before xmas!

The SMOK's are pretty cool, the side bar does work very well and feels natural. In fact its a pita when going to a normal button type after. Firmware side is not the best but then no real need to faff about with it. Its pretty much for temp control stuff and extra modes(min/med/max etc so gives a little % more power for 2s when start vaping).

Led bar is a not bad as can change it to any colour you want, i usually have mine in a nice blue colour(quite similar to the sti blue). All these can be changed via the app . So you can change, program anything from power times to colours etc etc. A lot is kind of a novelty but most does work well if makes sense.

Tried unscrewing the base to have a look at the coil but it seems welded! Really don't want to have to take a pair of pliars to it.

in at the deep end

The tank unscrews ,base is screwed via the top of the coil and chimney. Once undone it can be tight in the Oring so take care and pull apart. The coils are beasts!! Bed in at 40w, usually 60w is enough but the tank will get quite warm. Make sure your juice is min 50% VG ideally higher as its really a cloud chaser with their coils.
Coils will require a good soaking on the wick before fitting and vaping, allow a good 10 mins once set up to soak through. Few drags with no power at 1st.

Imo the best vape is the RBA bases, be it single or dual. Just required wick, cut a 4mm strip and twist one end and feed through. Once through trim a tad past the base in length each side. I usually soak wick and position on base over the channels and a bit into them. Fit cap and coil is ready to go.......... start at 15w and maybe go to 20w with the single.

The usb port is just for firmware updates, tbh i would leave that bit for now as it can be a pita! Not really needed either.........

Oh and allow a good tank of juice to bed in, coils will last weeks!!! Might taste a bit "cottony" at 1st, tank or 2 and will find a very nice thirsty vape!

Ooo I like the drip tip air holes. Adds a cool sensation on top of the warm vape. This is a different leaque to the subox.

Downloaded the app and yes, it's a bit gimmicky but good fun. A few to many options on the box control with too few buttons to control it. Practice I guess.

After trying it on 50w for 30 minutes, I'm not on 110w. Currently running the standard tripple coil which is sitting at 0.15 ohms.

Glad you like yes certainly a different league compared to the small sub ohm kits. Wait till you get rolling on the RBA base, that can be used heavy and still keep a cool tank. Awesome clouds and flavour at 20-25w............

The quad coils are beasts, both can be vaped at 80w comfortably without too much heat. You will know what i mean if you try 100w+ Only for short vapes, clouds etc.

The smok tells you the time, date...........everything (holding power when locked out and left/right buttons) Can flip screen to suit the way you hold it, change colours on the mod or by app...........never ending.

You Ven, are a bad influence!

Next step, making my own juice. I'll have to as I can't afford to keep satisfying the thirst of this setup. Already killed a tankful!

Your not the 1st to say that

Yes making your own juice is a must, i made 250ml and it works out about £16 or so. I just buy 2L of VG now for £10, flavours are around ~£2.50 for 10ml, and nic concentrate £10 for 100ml. Using 4mg which is more than enough sub ohming.

When i bought a few bottles of grim reaper at £8.50 for 30ml...........it killed me! I went through one bottle in a day.......

Oh yes..........very nice vanilla custard flavour, kind of addictive

These tanks do drink some juice though. When i tried the 0.15ohm coil at 100w, literally 2-3 vapes and 1/2 gone.

Now i mainly use the RBA bases, hard to beat for flavour/clouds and happy at 30w or even less.

Crazy, I know what you mean though, some flavours are very addictive, I've just made up some more with a TW grape concentrate that i've not had before, its really nice, I think i like it more than bubblegum variants, but 4.5ml lasts me a few days

Hello again, after some concentrate flavours, preferably somewhere that sells them in 200ml bottles.

Plan is to buy 2L of vg and just make a couple of litres up or 2.4L to be precise, one of the bubblegum already linked and another 1.2L of something else, so looking for recommendations of flavours and reliable sources to get them from, that way £40 ish should see me good for a year.

Or should I put 800ml vg to 200ml flavour to make 80/20 mix, which thinking about it sounds right, so then I'll have 400ml vg left over from the 2L and then I'll need another 80ml flavour to use that up.

PPS How well does this stuff keep and how long for, also how does it need to be stored? fridge, freezer, dark room or cupboard, temperature range to store it at for 6months to a year.

sorry for sounding like a thick koont but it's all new to me so I'd rather ask stupid questions than make a mess of things.

Hey there, buying 2L of VG makes sense but i would not make HUGE amounts up as may get bored. I tend to make 250ml up at a time. The flavour is PG based so i dont bother adding any so basically an 80% VG mix with 20% PG flavour(my nic is VG too and included in the 80%).

As i make 250ml at a time i simply just buy 5x 10ml bottles of flavour so 50ml=20% flavour in a 250ml mix.

Flavours, the capella brand i like(many out there so a lot of trial and error which adds to not making a big batch unless sure ).

If new, just knock up a smaller amount and use the calculator to work out. If 50ml its easy enough as 1 bottle of 10ml, then depending on nic strength(4mg would be around 3ml@72mg concentrate). Then 37ml of VG and done......

I tend to order my flavour from(DIY has different brands)
http://vapable.com/product-category/liquid/

Also for a nice vape
http://decadentvapours.com/product-c...weet-flavours/

Mine was hand picked by Nathan and came in a green quilted envelope Nice touch!!

Flavours, well i like capella bubble gum, vanilla v1 with a little Bavarian cream, cotton candy is nice.

Any menthol's or berry flavours, mix maybe at 15% strength as some can be quite potent.

Missed the storage, i just keep in a cupboard, dry/cool kind of temps. Should last months...........never had any go bad anyway.

Always give it a good shake when using, that way if it does settle it will be mixed up again.

Look for some 100ml soft plastic bottles, great for using day to day without having to faff about with small 10 or 30ml bottles. Buy 5 or 10 for a few £ off ebay(usually imported).

So without making a too large amount, have a couple or more tanks with different flavours in. Then either swap tanks (or mods if have more than 1) to swap about easily without draining away or messing about putting back in the bottles. Also you get a better flavour hit as over time you get used to the flavour. Just a thought and makes it more convenient.

evening all. my tfv4 leaked like nothing I've seen before. i put the triple coil in that was one of many supplied, primed it and used it for a bit. next day, empty tank and a lot of juice all over the place.... not impressed as none of my atlantis 1 or version 2 have ever leaked. (got 5 in total as i fill each with different flavours to save me switching liquids in the same tanks) am i doing something wrong??? i do like the x cube 2 however. lots of options available on the actual box, especially for using an rda.

Ven you're a star mate.

Just spent £30 at vapable.com ordered half a dozen different flavours, couple of syringes, t-pipets and some 4.8 nic, still not sure about this but thought for the sake of a fiver I may as well while I'm at it.

I don't really need any bottles as I have collected quite a few over the last month or so.

Went to my not so local (35miles away) vape shop yesterday and made a very useful discovery, you can buy VG over the counter at the chemists here for £3 yes £3 a litre, just have to go in and ask for it, if they don't have it in stock they will get it for me in a few days, so that's solved my shipping problem and saved me pretty much what I have just spent, so to my mind I'm vaping for free.

I have ordered concentrates in 10ml bottles so no worries about getting them on the plane in a couple of weeks.

All in all I'm quite pleased, especially at the litre of VG for the same price as a 10ml bottle of premixed.

Thanks again to all of you guys for your help.

Result, glad sorted and hopefully some nice juices coming up

Leaking tfv4, make sure there is an O ring on the bottom of the coil, make sure tight in place as can come undone(i know basic stuff but just in case as i have had coils come loose).

Some how its getting past and into the centre, i have not had much trouble with the triples and quads....more with the RBA bases. These are very particular with wick length, really need to be plenty of cotton near the juice channels or it passes and leaks inside, then out ht air holes.

What juice mix are you using, ideally 70%+ VG now with these coils , thin juice(more PG) can leak easier when warm.

Just thoughts.......

Well I had a dentist appointment today in one of the bigger local towns, so after my clean and polish, all the crappy tobacco residue removed I went to see one of the chemists, to mu surprise they had the VG in stock so one litre bought for the princely sum of £3 sterling bloody gloopy stuff it is too, so I'm now well on the road to making my own juice.

Jesus, sounds like a drug den in here.

Just read the last few posts, me thinks I will have to go back to the start and play catch up a little bit as sounds interesting, will probably get through 20 B&H before I get there though !
