Default K-SPORT ROTORS question

Have just purchased a second hand set of 8 pots discs/blue pads, started to give them a good clean up today and noticed that there is 'R' clip pushed onto one of the cooling fins on the vents? thought this might be a fluke loose clip from somewhere that simply got wedged there but having inspected the second rotor, have found one on there to? wtf is this for?? can't see any reason for it or what it can possibly be doing but thought it 'weird' each rotor's got one?

No idea what it's for but I've seen the same on several sets of AP rotors before so I don't think it's a case of something just been pushed on there for fun by someone. No help on why though...

pic 1, the clip. pic 2, half inserted. pic 3, fully inserted and how i found it, there's no obvious reason why its there or even in this particular place on the disc as its not any different which fin its on?? the other rotor's the same.

Looks like it just got wedged there and it might be a pad retaining clip maybe.
