Default APi Racecar - JDM Impreza Version 2 STi Limited Edition - MY 1995

The APi built and maintained race car / track car is once again for sale.
It was due to be making an appearance at most events this year, but unfortunately the buyer can no longer commit to the purchase!

We have kept it off the market in the hope that the buyer would change their mind but it appears that it's not going to happen! So ultimately it has to go!

This car is ridiculously quick and is definitely not for the faint-hearted.

The car passed the MOT recently - it has never been registered in the UK, but can be without any hassle.

There are no rear seats, which can be fitted if necessary. The front seats are currently standard STi road seats.

If someone wishes to buy it as a road car we have the option of removing the Takata Dog-Box (which is not at all road friendly) and fitting a JDM 6 speed for the same overall price.

The Spec is as follows:

The base car is a JDM Impreza Version 2 Limited Edition MY 1995.

ENGINE:
Closed Deck Block
STi Heat Treated 75mm Crankshaft

Possibly Cusco? 6-Point Safety Cage

Currently on the Alcatek ECU System with an Air Intake Temp Sensor,
Mapped by BR Developments.

Previously rated at 430bhp at the wheels when it was on the HKS F-Con Pro ECU.

This engine has only been run for approximately 10 hours since the build, this time is including the closely guided running in schedule.
The box and diff have also only done 10 hours or so since being freshly built.

£10,000.00
[Vague possibility of breaking the car if no interest, but 95% of the car would need to be spoken for before we would even think about it.]

This car is advertised on other websites.

I don't think many look in this section, David.

Everyone has their eyes glued to the breaking section on here

Maybe worth putting it in there and seeing if there is interest in the parts?

Thanks K wasn't really looking to break it, as it is such a good car, but if no one wants it then break it I must.

Hi. Am just back to UK after 13 years in Asia (always had Subarus there). Looking to buy something fun that I could also use every day to commute (I can tolerate a fair bit as long as overall is good fun).

Quick Qs..
Still for sale ?
Could it be used in traffic every day ?
How practical would it be to get this registered and insured for use ?

Tks
Geoff

That's a whole bunch of Yes's Geoff

All I have to do is send the reg docs off to the DVLA and it'll be ready to drive away. It is already MOT'd.

It is amazingly docile to drive, but when you want to go, it'll just pick up and go. Probably not be the most economical car you've ever owned ............

But for that type of use l'll swap the 5 speed dog box for a 6 speeder at no cost, because the dog box won't take day to day driving without wearing out the dogs regularly. I have driven it around a fair bit and it's not at all bad.

Call me on 01926 614333 if I can help or you need a demo.

Thanks for the quick response David.
I'm in Turkey at the mo (bravely ran away from the storm) and will be back on Saturday.

If you don't mind me throwing a few questions at you as they come to mind, I'll call you when I'm back to follow up.

I don't suppose the car has air con ? (Appreciate that it has been purpose built for a purpose).

Would one of the specialist insurers likely be able to insure the car with everything disclosed ? (I'm 41 with 5 years NCD and just got my imported forester insured and that has a bunch of things added so id assume could be done..

I'm based in Essex and quite time poor. What would be a sensible maintenance / service schedule and would the work need to be done by your firm or anyone nearer to me that you would recommend ? (I was a regular at a place called Garage R in Singapore which is the SEA authorized HKS dealer so I know how important a good garage is.)

Could you have back seats installed for me ?

How hard is the ride on normal UK roads ?

Thanks again David.

In case this car doesn't turn out to be 'the one' id be happy for you to recommend any others that you have / are aware of.

Cheers

Geoff,

Aircon is the same system as the US army uses on their Humvees. They call it "one and 45" or "two and 65". In English that is;

1 window open at 45 mph and 2 windows open at 65mph..........

It will be insurable through either Moley [ Gary Moulson ] on here, who is the top man at Keith Michaels 08005 422141 Speak to no one else there.

OR A Plan also on here 01635 874646 they compete for price too.

There is nothing needing doing to the car right now, but for regular maintenance I'd use Paul Gidney at Xtreme Scoobies in Boreham, he's a good guy and won't rip you off. Just oil & filter etc every 3 or 4 thousand miles depending upon how many track days. Change the oil automatically after every track day as it will have blown fuel past the rings into the sump oil on such hard use. That emulsifies the oil badly and it needs to come out ASAP. the run it on the fresh until the next service or track day and do the same. Just don't leave trackday used oil in for any length of time.

It is mapped By Bob Rawle and we would only use him or Pat Herborn for mapping our cars. I can put you in touch as and when.

Back seats will fit [ and can be ] but don't forget it has a whole cage fitted so they won't fit like standard. You might want to remove the diagonal crossbrace from the rear hoop, if you want anyone to sit there. lt is designed to come out and be refitted easily.

It is firm on the ride, but has click adjustment for ride. The roads are crap mostly nowadays. So most of them are bumpy rather than the car. It is also "track low" and we can lift it a bit, although I have been driving it about up here at that height. Speed bumps etc. might be an issue though.....

I have someone else talking to me about the car today. Just a heads up not a bargaining tool.

Call again on dob@apiengines.com if you want a less public question and answer session.

Cheers David

"The more you delay, the more you pay."

I was 'interested' too.

Must be a bit of a riot (esp. with the std brakes!)
