For burning Sacred books id go for the Tesco brand myself.
For your car. V power all the way, although 99 is next best in my book. I always find it a bit jerky and hit or miss how good it is when you buy it. V power to me is the best and i use it always, i go through around £100-120 a week on it. Ouch!

I just stick with V-power, as I understand it that's generally considered one of the best fuels.

V-POWER ALL DAY LONG FELLA
If you do get stuck using the odd tank of Tesco 99 wont harm but if I was to choose then V-P for me.
plus v-p is only 1.17 round corner from me and tesco 99 is 1.21 a lil further away 2 so v-p is always the winner

Also, they're comparing it against Optimax, not V Power

90% of the time I use Tesco, never had any problems in 8 yrs of running Scoobs....... When I use V Power I get around 22-23mpg, but with Tesco it's 23-24 on the same runs, but then my car was mapped using Tesco's so it should be more optimised for that fuel...
Depends what's available in your area. not everone can get both kinds...

there seems to be a 'it's tesco, it must be cheap' attitude to tesco momentum (99), i have used it for 3years, not because i don't like v-power, it's just because it's closer to me, mine was mapped for v-power, so even with my 'choclate' pistoned (ffs!), 2.5 it hasn't blown up or anything. use either.

tesco is the best stuff we can get on the isle of wight.otherwise its 97ron super unleaded, i have just heard alot of people talking about the v power. we have only just got 99ron down here within the last year. 3 petrol stations on the island that do it, and tesco being the best. as long as tesco's stuff is ok im happy lol

I prefer V-power but if I'm stuck I'll happily use Tesco 99.
I do think V-power has the edge but I use millers octane booster on top of 99 ron fuel which really gets things going!

My MY05 jdm sti on original jap map runs fine on both, have checked using learning view and detect no significant knock or ignition retard with either. To be honest fuel consumption and performance same whichever I use. Tescos is 100 yards from where I work so use that most of the time, with the odd tank of v-power when I am near a shell station.

I have a Wrx 02 Bug. Was using V-Power but got caught short and had to use Tesco 99. Seems alittle better to be honest. Gonna keep using it for now and see how it goes. So far so good, and it's cheaper!

Greenergy supply Tesco 99 RON (now called Momentum). Quality certificates are here
http://www.greenergy.com/Buying/fuel_certificates.html
Bioethanol is used to increase the RON rating.
In my view nothing wrong with the fuel, I use it in my car which is now at 137k miles. Have used Tesco 99 almost exclusively since I got the car when it had done just 32k miles.
