Default Thoughts on this JDM Blob

Hi all,

Been helping a friend look for a scoob, but up until now has been all Type R's, I know classics OK but not that up on JDM blobs, I've heard JDM's are a better car than a widetrack UK, and the spec looks good with DCCD, twin scroll, quickrack etc..

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2004-Subar...82604259&rt=nc

What do people think?

Also it seems pretty cheap given the mileage etc, or is this about the going rate for a JDM? Lastly I vaguely remember seeing there was a few specs of JDM STi's, GL and so on, can anyone tell me which one this is?

There will be a few telling you the reasons - expect 10 pages.

Hi, This car is not a widetrack. The car looks to be JDM but the topmount intercooler is not JDM. The JDM intercooler is shaped differently at the top. Steve.

Any car company with 'Cheshire' in the title need to be avoided.

Its really not. Its the same unit as the UK cars.

It is a JDM STI - Clocks, folding mirror switch etc, rear wiper, DCCD.

The garage I havent heard too much about, is this a sister company to the crooks at Cheshire Performance? if so, STAY AWAY. The wheel will fall off as you drive it home.

Try asking on Google, or is it not working for you tonight?

My intercooler is different BUT mine is a spec c.

There was a JDM blob on Facebook for £6500 that looked ok.

Am I missing something - where they are different?

I actually had three at one point as I was cleaning one and painting it for mine, they where all the same. Two came off JDM's and one off a UK. Was I done? lol

Course you did sweetheart, you obviously missed the multitude of posts that google link to regarding Clives Performance/Cheshire Performance.

I'd get someone to come out and look at your Google, clearly its suffering from operator error. Now jog along, you've got some instruction manuals to read regarding the use of Google and forum etiquette

I believe the spec c is thicker than a normal intercooler.

If you look at my intercooler at the top on the middle

This isn't Cheshire Performance, nor Clives Performance - both different companies, and there is no connection to this , Cheshire Motor Car Sales.

Lol. What a fail!

I can sorta see it, maybe its a Spec C thing? Cant see them making a slightly different size IC for a limited production car though, that would be a big costing to them for a market so small. Maybe the JDM STI one is different. Hmm.

No, I dont see anything mentioned of that sort. You are continually failing, every effort to redeem yourself is failing. Its funny. Brightened up my evening

Is that just the Spec C or the JDM STI as well? Wow, no wonder they never made much money on these cars haha.

Got your PM - no wonder the Spec C I drove felt like I was being dragged down the road in a tin bath - Awesome cars, but I like a bit of creature comforts in the JDM

It's just the Spec C

Yes very raw cars, not ideal to do the weekly shopping in
I hardly use mine to be honest - can't wait until summer.

I remember Neil at Slowboy when he got his years ago, he drove a huge journey home and said it almost destroyed him by the time he got back!

I drove it back from mumble in Wales, 7 hours driven by myself and the first hour was lovely - the rest was not, I did actually think "what have I brought?"

Not quite true. My 2005 JDM STi (non-Spec C) had the larger intercooler too.
