Gave the Subaru a service today, fresh Millers CFS 10w50, new JDM Black oil filter and a new set of plugs. I also stuck a new set of C / J Hook front discs on with new pads as I wasn't happy with the discs that came with the Brembo's. I also swapped back to my original wheel studs so that I could remove the spacers.
Whilst I was doing the discs I noticed the outer CV boot on the driveshaft I replaced about 6 months ago has split already! Few pics below:

Might be selling up soon. No idea what to Value the car at? I might be selling both cars and getting an E46 M3 as an all rounder that can do the daily drive and still be fun.

Well the 5 speed lasted well but has let go . No 1st or 2nd gear, horrible noises, reverse is weird as well, it'll move but if you back off it stops dead and rocks like a car left in gear. It's very hard to find any gears too. Managed to limp it home in 3rd.

5 speed is out and the car is ready for the 6 speed to go back in. Got a slight issue, one of the threads on the front 2 17mm bolts that hold the crossmember to the car has stripped so I need to sort that out. Thinking of drilling and tapping the next size up and replacing the bolt (Bolt and threads in car are ruined).

So after much heaving and rolling around on a driveway the 6 Speed is in! Done about 40 miles so far, kept the 5 speed slave cylinder as they looked virtually identical and it works perfectly fine.
Gear ratios will have to take some getting used too, blazes up through the gears so fast now.
Last thing to do is get a 6 speed gearknob, using the 5 speed one isn't the best.

Done quite a few miles with it now, all seems well. Using the 5 Speed Gearknob is driving me nuts though so hopefully Matty can find me another one!

Over 600 miles on the new box already now, getting more used to the ratios, it picks up alot quicker in gear now and its pretty good fun flying through the gears.
Just needs 450Bhp now

Update of whats happened recently, gave it some fresh oil and a coolant change as my header tank started to leak around the neck.
Bought another TD05 20G for a Jolly for a while, will chuck that on soon, one of the threads that hold the recirc valve to the STI TMIC has gone so have a helicoil kit to replace that and i'm going to convert it to stud and nut to stop it happening again.

Managed to sort out the TMIC issue with the stud and nuts:
6 Speed Gearknob Finally :
New 20G to chuck on:
And a random pic of the car that I liked:
Really enjoying it at the moment, its so much fun to chuck around. I have noticed that it oversteers a lot more with the 6 speed box however! As soon as the power comes in the gearbox seems to lump all of the power to the rear end and it spins the rear wheels pretty hard! The old 5 speed was nothing like that at all! Don't know if that's just a 6 speed thing or what?

So things have happened...
20G is now fitted, along with TGV deletes, Silicone turbo inlet hose and a 3" - 2.5" full decat which has been wrapped. The car is back up and running, I've also got an adjustable FPR to go on.
The car is booked to be mapped on the 25th .

Car is mapped, first attempt didn't go well, heard a familiar noise, the up pipe gasket squeal of doom! Made 350 ft lbs and 337 bhp on the rollers on a very warm day.
So ordered a new up pipe gasket, replaced this and went down to Bournemouth to see Duncan again to have another go, got slightly disappointing results power wise, only about 355bhp, this is mainly due to the 2.5" exhaust as it made more power with more boost at higher rpm but was detting as the exhaust cannot flow enough so it's tuned at a safe level.
It's making a bucket load of torque though (around 365 ft lbs), more torque than BHP in fact and really does pull hard and has serious traction problems in the wet (dry sometimes too) . It's a hell of a lot of fun to slide about now! I can't really feel any extra lag at all, it just feels like a meatier 16G, makes full boost way before 3500rpm.
Had a couple of other issues to work through also, the header tank rad cap spring went soft and it wouldn't hold 1.3bar pressure at all, so I've fitted a Cosworth 1.3bar cap (spring pressure was night and day compared to the old one), this added pressure made the original top radiator hose stretch and it clipped the alternator pulley which cut it open and made a nice mess . So I've got a pair of silicone hoses on the way to replace them both along with fresh coolant.
I'm probably going to leave it as it is for now, chucking a full 3" exhaust on would free up another 20 or 30Bhp at the top end, but I'm not really going to notice it. Instead I'm going to start collecting bits for the next turbo upgrade
