New Hawkeye Owner! Pics Of My '07 13k Minter!
Hi all,
I'm fairly new here but have been looking at Evo's and Impreza's for a long, long time! I'm a bit **** when it comes to cars and always like trying to find the best I can! When I found an Evo that ticked all the boxes it was an FQ360-MR HKS edition with 18k on it which was £23k.... Waaaaayyyy beyond my budget!
In the end I decided to either compromise on the model/spec of the Evo and no doubt emf up with something I didn't really want just to suit my budget... OR go for an Impreza? So I started looking more in depth at the Impreza ideas and didn't really know what I wanted. A friend of mine let me take his P1 out and I absolutely loved it... Proper Impreza but just too old for me. I then looked into new age models and quickly made my mind up that bug eyes are FUGLY and hatches were also goin a bit beyond my budget. So I'd narrowed it down to Blobs and Hawks. I took a a '56 STi Blob out and loved that but it still just felt a bit 'old' for what I wanted
I started looking at UK cars and also JDM cars and as much as a lot of people were raving about the JDM spec cars I just couldn't not have the classic Impreza sound so that had me set on a UK car and pretty much narrowed it down to a Hawkeye shape. I thought that I'd test drive one and if I liked it them that would be the car for me! I found a few on Piston Heads and Auto Trader that ticked my boxes but then one stood out above the rest. I went up to take a look and absolutely fell in love with it
Stacks of paper work, absolutely immaculate inside and out and only 13,000 miles honestly feels like a brand spanking new car it's unreal!
Any way here is a few pics, enjoy
Here is a little before and after of the bay after I removed a lot of cheap and tacky looking blue hosing and a few unwanted stickers...
The rear roof vane had an awful vinyl graphic which I could not wait to remove, here is a little before and after of that...
A little interior mod when I got bored
Freshened up the front end a tad with a smaller front plate...
And then my favourite upgrade so far
I think the blob eye rear lights transform the look of the rear end... I really, really am not a fan of the OEM Hawk lights
Anyway opinions welcome, I will update this post with updates to the car as I go.
Sam.

Looks great buddy, I do like the hawks in blue, and hear where your coming from regarding the.burble, my good mate had a blob spec c RA and as awesome as it sounded with the twinscrol, it just didn't match the note of my classic WRX on full song.
Love the middle finger to the lights aswell, and as stu pointed out, the vortex generator doesn't look Great bit were all differnt, I think you either lobe or hate them.
Good luck with your new purchase.

The silver mesh is horrendous, sort of thing you used to see on a saxo. Rather drive round in a 'Fugly' bugeye than a car with silver mesh, a stick on 'vortex generator' and a dump valve . lol, that's revenge from all the bugeye owners
Good find with the mileage though.

Hi guys, I haven't posted in a while so I thought I'd update this with a few recent changes!
I wanted to upgrade my head unit a while back so I decided to go for the new Pioneer Apple CarPlay touch screen double din, absolutely awesome piece of kit could not recommend it enough!
I also decided to fit a custom size US / Jap style rear plate.
And then finally, I've wanted to fit some black headlights to the car from day one but didn't really fancy doing the job myself so I had been trying to find a set for sale. It seems nobody manufacters them and trying to find someone selling a set already done was just extremely unlikely after spending months searching.
In the end I decided to bite the bullet and do it myself, I've done the same process on previous cars but looking at the cost of replacing these STi Xenon headlamps should I mess one up was the only thing holding me back haha.
Anyway I've spent the weekend doing it along with a US style amber parking lights. This was a big head scratching moment as I needed a dual filament bulb holder to fit the same connector in the headlight and then figure how to wire it all up so you have a permanent 5w Amber that would also operate as a 21w flashing indicator. Anyway here are a few pics I took during the process.
Here's the before...
And here's after with the black headlamp masks, Amber running lights and also the Zunn sport grilles removed. These are currently at the powder coaters being done gloss black.
As always, all comments and criticism welcome!

Nice car, mate. The front end looks much better with the headlight mod and minus the silver mesh!
I could be wrong but I seemed to think it was illegal in the UK to have the squarer, motorbike-look plates - front or rear!? I've been wanting to get one for the rear for ages but have resisted so as not to attract unwanted attention from the rozzers. How did you go about getting the new plate?
