Thumbs up

I have contacted a dealer who is willing to do a deal for 15(might be able to get that lower)My 99/00 on the PPP.

This breaks out as 1450 + vat. Which comes to approx £1700. A discount of 15%.

This is a great deal, so a count of hands needed.

BTW

All the cars will need to be converted in a period of a month.

Potentially interested, do we take the car to Prodrive ourselves?

We do have to take the cars to Prodrive. It's a day to fit it. So a day in Banbury (not that much to do unfortuatly).

As I said it's a great deal, which the dealer has said that he will probably make a loss(can't see it myself personally), but this hold them favours in the future(tickets for rallies etc I suspect).

If we could get probably 10 I could go and haggle with him.

The dealers based in Wales

So now we need to get your dealer to get the PD 100 quid off to bring the price down to 1600.

Harj can help get the full PPP for less but this doesn't include fitting and you invalidate your warranty.

I would love to get it down to that 1600 but not a chance I'm afraid.

I would love to go the Harj way, but I refus to invalidate my warranty. I might as well fit a 3rd party product.

why would it invalidate warranty? You could always swap back the std ecu in the event of a claim, after all it only takes a few minutes!!

The email I just got from Harj is better than that.

Not sure whether I ought to post the price so I won't, I think Harj should really do that. I'm phoning my insurer to check it's OK tommorrow.

Ps If I decide too I will have a spare PPP backbox for sale.

I'm interested but I've a couple of questions. Can the car still run on normal unleaded? What happens to the old ECU, hoses and exhaust? Do we keep them, you may change your car in the future and decide to put it back to standard and keep the kit for another scooby.

Yes the car still runs on unleaded, and I'm sure you get to keep all the parts which have been replaced.

Cheers,

Rob.

Ronnie,

thats the price he told me as well.

To be honest the 1700 sounds better price to me now. You get the extra exhaust, and intercoller piping fitted by prodrive.
If something goes wrong, its sorted by a dealer as its warranty.

If you have just the Prodrive chip and something goes wrong you will need to get it removed before you go to the garage.

Plus the intercooler piping must do something surely.

robski

p.s. wheres Sunil!!??

couple of points here

If you decide to go the Harj way, your warranty will be invalid. You might as well fit a third party product and save yourself a 1k squids.

The preconception of t you fit the chip and off you go sounds like crap to me. Why does it not take prodrive ten minutes to get your car in and out??? The dealer has said this will take a full day(must be a fecking good valet to use up the rest of the day). So they must be doing something right.

What we need is 10 min for me to go back to the dealer (BTW the dealer is Keith Michaels, Powys, Wales).

All kits will need to be fitted within a month of the first one going in. Cars have to be taken to prodrive.

There seem to be a shed load f people interested but not to many coming forwards with a yes yes yes.

Ipro, good for you for taking positive action.

I'm a bit worried that you "actually" beleive what a delaer says though. I'm sure he "needs" the car for a day- but that's more to do with the poorly organised way in which they work! It could be parked out back for most of the day while they fit you in. Leaving it all day helps them out so they don't have to stick rigidly to time slots...

Robski

Phoned the insurer (AXA) but they don't seem too happy about me fitting the PPP (Ie we will cancel your insurance *again* Mr Foster) am I asking the wrong questions ? did you actually insure yourself ? or are you going through someone else ?. Some insider info would be useful.

Anyway, I still don't want to post Harj's price put it was a price for the *whole* kit (chip, back box and intercooler gubbins) and was much nearer Robski's posted price than any other I've seen.

(Oh and my Warranty ran out last month so I'm not fussed about that

gary,

I was told my insurance would go up 2 groups from 17 to 19. No idea why AXA would want to cancel your insurance though!

cheers,

Gary,

why should I know (email now removed from earlier post)

2 things spring to mind. 1) I think but cannot say for sure you have exceeded the underwriting group that the direct arm will deal with. You may have got a muppet on the phone (if its direct), you have about a 99% chance of this especially on a friday, LOL!

2) you have a claim or something that they dont like the look of in combination with that increased grouping.

Im insured with NFU. AXA wanted too much this year even with staff discount. But then last year was the only year they have ever been competitive for me!

Are the only insured driver? if so look to add someone with better driving record than you (dad, wife, mother ( :O ) anyone, check before, but it can lower premium)

Com on chaps we at least need another 5 for me to haggle with the dealer, there was shed loads of people interested but they've all disappeared.

I think most people agree that 15% discount is pretty darn good.

I'll mull over it this weekend. Lots of expenses this month and next (I'm getting wed). I won't make a decision before Tuesday (I'll be enquiring about my bonus).

What is included in the PPP package and what improvements to performance does it make?

Thanks

KHB

With the PPP Prodrive change some intercooler pipeing, replace the Backbox with a stainless steel one and change the whole ECU.

This gives min 20% increase in BHP and torque

Cheers,

Rob.
