Any RENAULT 19 16valvers on here
I used to have a K reg phase II blue 16v.
Loved that car except I had to replace the gearbox on it Ouch!
Seen it around and the new owner does not look after it, looks like a right old heap of sh1te now
I still have two of the centre caps from it (one new), £25 each they were, anyone need a couple?

My last car was a phase II 19 16v, my nearest+dearest inherited it when I bought the scoob. Nice little car, still running happily on all original mechanicals at 140k miles with no emissions problems.
Only downside was it seemed to have a magnetic attraction to other vehicles, twice it was driven into in car parks - with sizeable amounts of damage, but no witnesses etc.
The car is currently missing one of the wheel centres - not properly attached last time it had a new set of boots! - are they for the curvy five spoke things? If so I might be interested!

Did 18k in a K reg from new.
Quite quick but had to be caned. Shocking build quality - Shake, rattle roll & flex.
4 alarms fitted in the first 8 months. (Under the dash was a mess of cut wires). Passed on to a work colleague (left company)and everything went wrong. Several new clutches, new gearbox, oil leaks everywhere and brake problems.
Confirmed all my worst fears about French cars. Thus got a turbo Octavia and not a Clio 172 when looking for a cheap replacement to my STi.

I had one before scooby - excellent car. No problems in 3 yrs of ownership only simple things like CV joints went , very common in Renaults.
Did lose a huge amount of money when I sold it though but an excellent cheap buy for anyone who can get a good insurance quote on it.
I did once manage to hit rev limiter in 5th gear - indicated 140mph - not bad going I'm sure it was way above 130.

Meeeeeeeeeeee! I have a phase 2 hatch on a K plate, had it a year now and its great (look im coming from a 1 litre fiesta so anything seems like the space shuttle!).
Had one major problem with it, the garage I got it form were supposed to haev fixed an oil leak three times after id bought it under warrenty, they lied about it hence on my way home from work one night it siezed. It only had 59k on the clock, the engine in there now was from a crashed 30k one!
Not modded, as these cars are quite costly to mod and get any decent power gains, may as well just buy a faster car! But as hot hatches go i love it, have driven golf 16 valves etc and although they havent got that german build quality the handle superbly.

my mate used to have one aswell, but we lost it in the wet one night coming home from the pub, did a full spin in the road, bounced off a wall and hit a lampost. So that one more off the road

Ahhhhh my first real performance car
back in 93 when i bought K220FYF (later registered as K578PCM) a lovely sports blue phase 2 3 door
was great fun and had 48k's worth of enjoyment out of her, took a test drive in a 306 GTI-6 though and goodbye, was sold instantly
more torque, better brakes, better clutch and gearbox (both not heavy and a pain to use like the 19 16v was) good fun for the 4 yrs i owned her thou

Used to give it maximum stick coming off the Castle Donnington / Sawley A50 roundaboutand could just about hit 90 off the slip road. Followed a green Scooby with a Sikh driver + white passenger (not trying to offend anyone here) driving, 5+ inch tailpipe, me in 3rd revving the crap out of it, Scoob pulls effortlessly away with no noticeable puff from the tailpipe. Instant convert. 3 months later bought standard Scoob and hit 115 at the same point.
If anyone knows who this guy is I would personally like to thank him for enlightening me, hope he is still Scoobying etc etc.
If anyone is reading from the Derby area I would love to send this guy an email.
Cheers,
Steve
