I have only had my MY00 for 5 weeks and need to replace one of the front side light bulbs as its alot dimmer than the other - how the hell do I get to it???

 

Open bonnet.

Get a Phillips scredriver and undo the screw on top of the headlight.

Push and pull (and swear a lot) as you try to get the sidelight off. Pull it away from the car.

Undo the bulb holder, and you can change the bulb.

PS - As a side (excuse the pun) issue, one of the brightest/whitest bulb I could get was the PIAA Super White bulbs. And the size you need is W5W.

All done. I see what you mean about swearing alot!!

 

I refuse to buy decent W5W sidelight bulbs cos I go through them far too quickly. At least three in each sidelight since July 01.

Have you had your electrics checked out by a dealer?

I had the same on a MY97 car I use to own. Found it was a dodgy connection on the bulb holder.

Worth taking them off for another look!

I'd get your car checked out. I've only blown one bulb in 3 years and that was the original cr@ppy OEM one last June.
