Airwolf - what was it?
Aye Bell Model 222 with a nifty paint job and some mock weapons. Apparently the missile launcher and machine guns were either on or off i.e. couldnt retract. The helicopter was even taken to many US air displays and offered passenger rides.
IIRC they are pretty pricey compared to your usual JetRanger III etc. I think second hand ones are over half a million dollars.

One that would have got its *** kicked by airwolf
Many a debate had at school about which one was better...because they are both real
I've got just about all the Jan Michael Vincent episodes on video at home
Didn't like it when the new bloke took over

'But the true "star" of the movie is Blue Thunder itself. To build it, the production company purchased a French Gazelle (Aerospatiale) helicopter, which can fly at speeds of 200 MPH, and added several prop gimmicks to it. The Gazelle is so maneuverable that the stunt pilots were able to effectively reproduce the 360° loop which Scheider is seen performing on screen.'

Either way they were both quality choppers. Every young kid wanted to be Stringfellow Hawke/Jan Michael Vincent. I wonder if it would ever have been so popular if he wasnt in it.
Dunno if its the main chopper or just an effects chassis but there is one Blue Thunder at Disney MGM Studios in Florida looking rather worse for wear it must be said.
Blue Thunder is still a great film. The little catch line between Murphy and Cochrane "catch u later". And when Lymangood (a very young Daniel Stern) goes mama looking at that hookers breats through the choppers camera.

lol I remember his 'hyperboost' or whatever it was, you could go round corners at 90 degree angles!!
anyone remember 'The Fall Guy' that was choice
lol

The only decent show on these days that follows the old routine of good guys vs the bad guys is Nash Bridges with Don Johnson and Cheech Marin (dude from Desperado and From Dusk til Dawn). Is better than Miami Vice ever was.
anyone remember the steethawk pilot show- streethawk jumps a police harley over a ramp in the openening scene- but as the harley leaves the ramp it "becomes" a dirtbike painted white!, when it lands its a harley again! incredible trick camera work
Like on Nightrider when every huge jump on turbo boost resulted in the front of the car buckling only to be reformed and repainted the very next second. Still we all lapped it up at the time.
streethawk was lame in that respect!
watched the fall guy the other day. When I was younger i remember it being all about the brown truck that used to jump everything. Watching it now it was dissapointingly lacking in action.
Even my fave knightrider is quite weak compared with what I used to think of it
.
Manimal - now that was class, but it isnt repeated.
I have to say that I think smallville is the modern kids equivalent of those type of programmes.
I think its fantastic, but my friends think I am lame for watching it religiously.
