fuel cut on MY96
Steve
I also run a MY96 with dawes and a revolution exhaust system and std downpipe. Factory spec ran at 0.8 bar, and with the exhaust 0.9bar. I lost some bottom end torque as the system is 3". Fitted the dawes and run 0.95 bar. Fuel cut figure suggested by people varies from 1.05 to 1.15 bar. I decided to go for near std boost and avoid any problems. Turbo spools up a bit earlier than before and pulls well between 3000 and 7000. I was advised to leave the bleed hole std as the MY96 uses a bigger more laggy turbo (if you had a small turbo model then you would enlarge it. I would recommend fitting a boost guage and an AFR meter to keep and eye on your boost and reassure yourself that you are not running lean. Hope this helps.

Hi,
96MY fuel cut is 1.15 bar.
Same as Martin I was running about 0.8 bar standard. Now running 1.5bar on standard intercooler, so in that respect, I wouldn't worry about EGT and the standard intercooler performance too much if you are sticking below the normal fuel cut.
I agree with Martin, if you haven't got one, get a boost gauge and an AFR meter. Well worth the money.
Can't comment on the Dawes myself as I've never had one.
Cheers
Rich

Hi I am waiting for a dawes race spec device for MY96 turbo (with complete SS decat system) and wondered at what bar the fule cut is at (not wanting forehead bruises !) - someone mentioned 1.0 bar, if so what is the cars standard bar pressure and will I see a benefit in fitting it without drilling a bleed hole ?
Secondly, am I likely to suffer from 1)boost spiking 2)poor top end performance in 5th ?
Sorry for catologue of questions.
Any help greatly recieved in advance.
Thanks
Steve
Forgot to ask about exhaust temperatures and inter cooler efficiency problems, has anyone had these problems with MY96's - no track days, just occasionally driven hard. Thanks
