Question

Sorry cos I know this has been done before (and started a flame war I seem to remember)...

Got tickets for ManU/Arsenal on Wednesday and don't want to spend the whole match worrying about my scoob. Recommendations?

Thanks,
Gareth

Get there early and park in the Lancashire cricket ground and ask if you can park near the car park attendant, I used to park my Scooby there every home match no problem.

Gareth,

There's an "official" car park that is open to the public just off John Gilbert Way. Like the other car parks, it fills up quite quickly, and you will need to arrive before about 18:30 to get a space. Costs £5 per car.

Daz - pub sounds good, except it's me + my 8-year old girl...!

Tram to the cricket ground sounds like a good idea, except I want a quick getaway afterwards (cf the above-mentioned 8-year old)... the waiting time for the tram after the Robbie Williams gig last summer was about an hour. What's it like after a match?

Cheers,
Gareth

You could always park at one of the £5 hotel car parks, ask the attendant to put you at the front for a quick getaway, there are plenty near PC World and near the Vauxhall garage, we used to park there and its about 10 mins walk to the stadium

No joke, the safest place to park is in one of the streets close to the ground, and pay the little kid that comes up to you 5 quid to watch it or his older brother will come and have it away.

Thanks for the replies - I went for the OT cricket ground option and was very happy (parked up between a beemer, an audi and a boxster).

I actually bottled out and took the 172. Surprisingly saw two others in the same car park - pretty unusual as the 172 is much rarer than the scoob. Only spotted one other scoob (X reg, DBM anyone?)...

Anyway, apart from the result a very stress-free night so cheers for the assistance.
