Needed are 10 MY99/MY00 scoobs for this deal.

Officially sanctioned by IM/Subaru.

Provides standard Prodrive Performance Pack for £1868.13

You have to take your car to PD.

Not a great movement, but this is a one-off offer after our discussions on the bbs. Still saves over RRP & keeps warranty etc.

If you are interested email Ian at Lancaster 7Oaks -

PTMW (to use your full title)
Do IM know how many people have declared an interest? 100 quid off doesn't seem like a lot considering the markup we know dealer get for doing very little. Not enough of a discount for me.

Greg
The RRP is about 1968 pounds. The dealer markup is about 400 pounds + whatever they can for delivery to PD.

Jason,

Are you sure it's just £100 off the price? I thought the official price was over £2k.

cheers,

Greg

yep, standard price with vat is around £1970 so its only £100 of the RRP.

Puff - nice to see that discussion here has had some affect. still far too rich for me though.

cheers

How's about us young un's (97my) ?
Sounds like pure elitism/snobbery to me
I spose I'll just have to pay the hole lot and for go the £100 (wow!).

Well done PTMW and JasonHook for at least giving it a whirl. £100 is better than a kick up the ****!

Jacko.

Posting under my other hat...

I think what we have started to achieve is great.

Whilst 100 odd pounds (5%) off a PPP does not seem masses, this is a <I>FULLY IM/SUBARU UK SANCTIONED DEAL</I>

Up until now, us scooby nuts here have been slightly frowned upon by the peeps at IM. Along with other initiatives & advances made over the last few months, I hope that this is the start of some long-term co-operation for all envolved

At the end of the day, we are all in the business of promoting subarus, for the benefit of all

Nice one Puff

A quick note to everyone. Check out an insurance quote or too first. The cost of the PPP may be more than 2K! The grouping goes up from 17 to 19/20!

Yeah, but if your like me and have the std RB5, then your already in the group anyway. So when I add my PPP, no premium increase.

Thumbs up

Top work Puff!

I hope you get the 10 MY99/MY00 cars needed. You're right, it is a step in the right direction getting this "official" offer.

Jacko

I too have an MY97 and I emailed Ian at Lancaster Sevenoaks this afternoon to enquire about the ppp. I bought my scooby from Ian and he is going to see what he can do for me. Why not email him yourself? He's extremely helpful.

harj, full kit?

the oher day you said ECU!

now if it is the full kit, the deal you offered was very very good!

?

robski

p.s. £100 off is an insult if you ask me, definately not the sort of numbers I expected a group buy costing minimum £20K to deliver, think we need to keep pushing

Robski,

How much discount did IM give you off your £22k Subaru car?

Nowt I would imagine, so they at least they are giving 5% off the PPP kit.

cheers,

Greg

How about a 10% discount for SIDC members. I'll have to chat to IM, but a few dealers offer 10% to SIDC, and that would bring the price down to £1771.32. Again you would have to get the car to Banbury.

Puff, I can offer any deal I like as a Subaru dealer. In fact I am sure I will be able to better 5%
Also this could be 1,2 or 100 cars

The bottom line is that any dealer is entitled to offer a discount on any of its products, and this includes the PPP. Thus I can offer the PPP at 10% or more. I could even sell it at a loss if I wished to. This would still be an official product, fully warrantied and fully IM approved.

I will post again when I hear more from IM.

David

Just rang Keith Michael in Powys. They will do the PPP for 1550+Vat which comes to £1,821
Car will have to be delivered to Banbury.

Seems like 7oaks are'nt really putting themselves out.

gregh,

when I ordered my car there was a 9 month waiting list. If you were selling something that people were falling over themselves to buy, would you offer a discount? If you would then you are plain daft.

I was speaking from personal opinion that that was not a significant discount bearing in mind we are working on a group deal.

I will make it nice and simple for you. How many PPPs do you think an indvidual dealer would sell per year? Lets say 5, and that they make £400 profit. Thats £2000 a year for selling the 5 PPPs. Still with me?
Then along comes say 20 people who all want the dealer to simply take their money, and book them in at prodrive, most if not all of these people will then take the car to Prodrive themselves, so very little work by the dealer. If they chop £200 off their profit (dont forget VAT is not kept by the dealer, so the actual discount to the total price is £235. They would make 20x£200 = £4000 instead of their normal (£2000) "quota" of 5 PPPs (which Im sure is a generous number seeing as not many people actually seem to have PPP). Everyones happy (well apart from the other dealers who have lost the PPP deals).

Whats going wrong here is we should be pushing the dealers into a bidding war, not just jumping on the first one to offer a measly £100 reduction (sorry Puff). Like I said I will ring some of the dealers, or maybe we should put together a fax, and fax EVERY subaru dealer?

IMHO of course

Excellent idea Robski, although it would be good to put into the fax something like ' we would like to give you as well as a small number of other Subaru dealers the chance for .......', for the reason that if we ask all and sundry , the dealer will think theres little chance of getting the biz and wont go all out to get the biz, if they think theyve got a decent chance, then theyre more likely to do a good deal.

IMHO

On balance I guess smaller dealers are more likely to jump at the chance, rather than big dealers?

Question

If someone want's to buy the full kit of Harj, but only wants the ECU and Intercooler pipes, I will make you a reasonable offer on the mid section and backbox.

Either that, or Harj, can you do me a deal on just the exhaust???

Cheers
Andy

Please remember lads im not selling these Items, im not even supplying them but offering the community a porthole thats cheaper than the normal price.

Andy I don't think the package can be split from what ive been told.

If a Dealer is doing a good deal then I would suggest the Dealer route to be the best or save some money and go via the routes descibed in this thread.

Ok chaps, I have spoken to the dealer and he is willing to do this deal.

15 cars @ £1,450 + vat = £1,703.75

His word were, we lose money on this deal but will carry favours later on with prodrive. Let's get it on.

AFAIK this is brilliant deal. So hands up.

also willing to do the deal with wheels for same discount.
