Question

Has anybody ever experienced this problem. When flicking through Sky Digital channels it goes to the interactive menu by itself, then when you exit it is on channel 999.

???

Just p1ssing me off.

I found that for the first few weeks/month I had it, it used to crash quite a bit. But it settled down eventually, presumably after getting a couple of s/w upgrades through the satellite?

Or have you had these for some time...?

i've had mine since digital first came out, i started with problems within a month. Problems include the screen being unwatchable when its raining or windy. Also cannot connect to the interactive side of things, 3 and a half years ago they told me it would be sorted in 48 hours, its still not sorted.

Our Pace box has a habit of when flicking through Sky Sports ie 401, 402 etc jumping to QVC on 630 just as you got to SS 3.

I think you will find that all the main boards are the same and they are all made by Pace but rebadged, look at the back of the units they are all the same and it was the same in the old Sky days with Pace,Grundig,Panasonic.etc

Core software i think they used to use different version numbers on the old ones, so I would assume they do the same now?

Question

How do you do a s/w upgrade. I guess I phone sky, but what should I say as the usual reply is reboot the box and it will be OK. Like all help desks, they are far from helpful.

Thumbs down

Turn it off at the wall, turn it on while holding down the update button on the front.....comes on and displays its updating, do not turn off.

Takes a while, after the update, you'll be please to know absolute bu99er all has changed and the box is still a pile a poo

Oh, mine keeps going into weird mode and switches to channel999 aswell.
