Cool

Guys,

Off to Powerstation tomorrow to see how much difference a Scoobysport downpipe and mid section has made to my UKMY99.

Previously I got 228.5bhp and 216lb/ft with just a Scoobysport back box and ITG filter.

Has anybody got a similar set up on their car - how much I might get, or can anybody make an informed (!) guess.

Closest person wins a prize - knowing that they're a real smart ****

Matt

Think it will be 227.5bhp and 215lb/ft, and it will be that just to annoy you!!!

I reckon approx ...

225-229 BHP
and
215-220 lbs/ft

oh...and the peak torque will be approx 900 to 1400 higher up the rev range.

That is based upon my previous car with the same exhaust.

Ian.

Cool

Ian - so no different to what it's putting out now then, and hence no improvement?!

Andy - none taken - I was being sarcastic, maybe my use of the correct smilies needs looking into

Matt.
Don't read too much into what figures you get. If it feels better on the road that should be enough.
It also depends on the conditions when you last went, but I'll have a guess at 238bhp and 230lb/ft.

matt, the only way to really know what the difference is , is to take a rr test with your 'std' setup then put the 'goodies'on your car and rr test again
(preferably asap between tests and on the same day !!)

m. (absolutely arsed ......Just got in from the night club and able to ttype ...oops almost a.ok)

Cool

Looks like Danny wins - 235.5bhp and 227lb/ft, a little less than I was hoping for, but still better that the Cavalier SRI that was going on after me.

As Stef said, difference on the road is king - or am I just using that as an excuse

See you in May guys, and lets all hope for the coldest May in history!!

Nice to meet you today!, the hot Cav may have been more under powereed however with its superb CAV KONI set up he would have left you for dead on the twisty stuff (god that car was lower than a snakes bellie)

SJD

PS The R 5 Turbo on the rollers after you would have wupped your **** , it nearly tore the rollers out the ground!

The down pipe certainly increases the low end torque of the motor and is very noticable on the road , even if the rollers don't pick it up.

Scott,

good to see you - and thanks for the kind words of encouragement - how did your mates car feel after the bumpsteer?

Steve - yes definitely worth it, which is why I'm surprised the figures weren't a lot different - the pull is far greater and revs much better all through the rev range.

Matt

Matt, was the expense of the SS front and mid section worth it ?

Are you disapionted/pleased with the improvement?

Would imagine 7bhp to be a normal fluctuation in day to day figures ?

Steve.
