Audi 80 quattro V6 estates???
Don't have any experience, just curious.... so BTT.
I'm considering an A4 Avant, but saw a 80 Avant on Friday, and it looked really solid. Only thing that worries me about the older car is being faced with large repair bills like I had with my last car, an 89 Corrado.
Would probably only be looking at a TDi, or with the A4 a 1.8T.
Mike.

Hi Stephen,
thanks for this, but a bit too much for my budget this time, and I was looking for something with better MPG than the Scoob. Both of these to help justify it to myself as much as anything.
Cheers,
Mike.

I had a 1991 Audi 80 for four years. It never missed a beat, started first time every time even after being left stationary in cold car parks for weeks on end. Rattled less than the scooby too!
But being a heavy vehicle with a weedy 1.8 engine it was no racing car. Froze the thing one cold winter, set off driving and eventually the radiator hose blew off and split. They wanted £30 for a new one, and also having had to replace a headlight unit I suspect the cost of parts may be an issue if you break things.
