Question

Hi there,
I've had my Scooby since August and it's due for a service next month. It has a service history although this wasn't carried out by Subaru so I want to make sure this time that everything that should have been done, has been done. Thing is, the car has just hit 45k miles and looking at some other posts I can hear 'ching ching - major service'. The car is a 97 Impreza Turbo, so does anyone know:
a) what service I am likely to require and what it entails?
b) is it best to use Subaru or a specialist?
c) recommended garages (Sparshatts of Botley/Havant are nearest dealers)
d) how much ££££££££!

Cheers peeps,
J

Seem to vary slighty but I took my MY96 to an independent garage just after I bought it. Had everything changed, plugs, cambelt, drive belts, fluids and filters etc... and a fault with the boot lock sorted and came to 475pounds... a dealer did quote 450 for the book service which was 90k miles which is a repeat of the 45k I believe but this was without boot fix and just the stuff in the service rather than everything.. not that much is not changed.
So I think you are looking at about 450 to 500pounds from a dealer.
I like to get a clean start with a car and know everything has been changed.. Also I had this done on previous Scooby and cost was 450 from a different independent...

hope that helps...

Cheers for that, I know the timing belt needs changing as it is looking a bit worn so that will be an added expense! What a bummer having my service AND Tax due in the same month!

Has anyone had any experience of using Sparshatts of Botley?

Hi Jamie.
The price is about right from a dealer of £500.
Not that I would charge that much for a 45k service Inc cambelt, more like £330. If you want more of an idea try
