What year etc, there are some things that are needed to know as if you get a car that needs a euro 3/4 report (though 3's are considerably easier than euro 4 cars to import) you could have some difficulty.

You can get people to do everthing for you. Bonsai cars in Southampton have set fees for various levels and ages. Bought mine from there but as an already in the country one. Their website has a link to various auction houses.

Better to get one already imported into the uk. Atleast you can see if your buying a dog or not.

I brought a couple in but with todays £ against the yen and shipping costs there are more bargains to be had in the U.K.

Why would you want to import a car when the exchange rate is so poor? This time last year £1 bought twice as much.

You wont appreciate this, but I have to say that if youre asking on a forum, then you arent going to be able to do it. If you have an agent who is a registered bidder and able to take care of transport/de-registration/storage/loading and you have any queries then I'll be glad to help. If you dont then, as Ive already said, you cant do it.

My answer for Bonsai cars was last July when the pound was actually worth something. Have been looking again recently as I want a V6 Sti for the missus and it is simply not worth it these days. I would still recomend Bonsai as they were good for me (it was 5 years ago now) but to wait until the strength of the pound increases against the yen.
