Default Anyone got a Clifford alarm???

Ive have a clifford cat1 on my scooby & it has this small keypad on my centre console.

Ive been told its an anti hijack feature that makes the car cutout in ??? amount of seconds.

Mine is currently not in use & the previous owner never used it either.
What i want to know is how i reset it / find out the keycode & how i put it into use.

Cheers Guys.

P.S. I don't have the clifford manual.

I have a very similar keypad and yes, it's the anti hijack part of the system.

I have no ideas how you reset or implement the feature. I was just given the code and got on with it.

It takes a bit of getting used to and i've coasted to a halt round roundabouts before now with the car screaming and lit up like a christmas tree. But i like the idea.

i think your find that its a back up if your battery in the fob go dead and need to use the car, you would open the car with the key and alarm will go off but put in the code to disarm the alarm and your away. code sould be in the clifford hand book like mine.

cheers

I've got a Concept 500 with Blackjax
The code for the Blackjax is unique as it's printed on the back of the manual (factory default).

check the alarm unit to see if it has serial number on it mine is

letter, number, letter, number, number, number, number,n umber, letter, number, letter, letter, letter (this is on the back of the manual so maybe on the unit)

That switch is definately the switch used to input the code for the anti hijack feature. There is probably a red or blue led that is permantly lit to display its in valet mode.
I would go back to the garage and ask them for any documentation inc the manual as I'm unsure that a clifford dealer can reset them completly.
The anti hijack is a good feature, - I had it fitted on all my cars.
PS if you car is a Black MY05 WRX then it could be my old car and I still know the code for it !

While this thread is at the top and has readers.

Anyone know what part i need, or where to get it from when the alarm siren stops. Is it a battery backup / replacement siren?

Alarm works normally, except no noise.

Gaz i think Clifford recommend a replacement siren BUT i do think there are a few threads about buying a replacement battery from Maplins (but i'm not sure).

Andy it's designed to stop car jacking e.g at traffic lights etc

The switch is called PlainView2 and is used for activating/deactivating Blackjax.
If activated you have 20 seconds after you switch on the ignition and press the brake (or open and close a door whilst the engine is running) you must enter your code (taken from my manual).
It is also used for messing about with user selectable settings

anti hijack, had that on my clifford concept 650, would not bother resetting it it's a pain in the ****.

I got sick of forgetting to input the stupidly long code number and then kangarooing down the road until it finally stopped with all the lights flash and then the siren sounds for what feels like an eternity whilst you try to push the buttons the correct amount of times!

Cheers.

Did a search also and there's a good write up on how to change the battery:
Clifford Alarm stopped chirping/ not working correctly? Read on! (How-to guide) - The mkiv Supra Owners Club

Mine makes no noise at all, which is not pointing to the battery. I think i might just have to get a new siren.

Hi -despite earlier messages this keypad has NOTHING to do with anti jack etc. The key pad is to be used to disarm the security system or enter "valet" mode without using the transmittter.

To use the key pad you will need to have your 4 digit pin number which in my case is labelled on the back of the 2 transmitters and on the back of the alarm owners guide.

So unless you have your security system pin code, the key pad will be as useless as some of the earlier posts
