Default New brakes making a noise round corners?

Recently fitted 4 pot calipers,Graham Goode discs and Carbone Lorraine RC5 pads to my '96 WRX.

Everything seems fine except when going round left hand corners the drivers side is making a grinding noise, sort of like the pads are touching the disc if you know what I mean.

Is this normal or does it sound like something is wrong ?

Just stripped all the brakes down earlier this evening and can't find anything wrong !

Went out in it and the noise is still there, only when turning left.

Does anyone know if it could just be the pads rubbing the disc as they are brand new ??

Question

I've got a 'similar' thing with my AP's, in so much the o/s (driver side) makes a light 'tusch, tusch, tusch', varying with speed, but only when they get VERY hot..? Goes aways as they cool.

No sign of any rubbing, thought it was dust shield, but it's not.

Just curious as to why scoobs (esp wrx) frequently seem to have problems with o/s/f brakes..? Is it something to do with the hub carriers/bearing flexing..?

I've got exactly the same problem after having new discs and pads fitted recently, and the noise is driving me nuts I was beginning to think it was the bearing...

N/S/F either squeaks or makes grinding noises when turning, but not always - I'm not sure if it's just when they're hot

But it didn't do it until I fitted new discs/pads etc.

Also,I noticed today that if I press the brake pedal while going round a left hand corner, the noise goes away and as soon as I lift off the brake pedal the noise comes back again

Anymore suggestions ?

Eliminate the backing plate first. It is common for this to foul disks when turning in certain directions. Take it off and drive the car.

Someone has suggested to me that it could be a sticking piston causing this noise by holding the pad onto the disc.

Anyone know if that would cause the noise I have described ?

I've only just bought the calipers off a member on here

Maybe I should have checked the pistons before fitting the calipers on the car

Also check the pads able to move in the calipers freely enough and that they are not jammed, and use copaslip on edges where caliper pad meet if you havnt.

Default noise

almost certainly bearings if it goes when you press the brakes, thats what happened on mine. changed bearing and problem gone.

Scooby front wheel bearings are not that good to be honest and changing them apart from being a pain is quite cheap, local motor factors supplied mine for £21 for a complete kit.
