I've had a major ring round, trying to get quotes on my scoob, some of these automatic online quoting systems make you laugh.
Here's my story.....
The car is a R (97/98) reg turbo wagon, with mod's, i'm 43, 1 recent 600quid non fault claim, 6 points still on licence from 04, approx 700 quid's worth of wheels, tracker fitted, recent respray, so car is almost mint...... Best price i could find woz £595, worst woz £3500. So I contacted my last insurers, they wanted about the same, roughly £600, i questioned this with them, as my last L reg scoob woz only £225. I woz informed that next year they would be able to insure it under a classic car policy and would be approx half wot they were quoting.....I went away and thought about it and whilst looking at my log book i noticed, my car woz a 97 R reg, making it over ten years old. I phoned them back and the quote woz amazing..... Fully comp, £250 excess, full track & rally cover, european recovery, legal cover, limited mileage 5000miles, windscreen cover, tracker not a requirement.... Cat 2 alarm required, which i had anyway...... All this for.... £194! Plus i rang up 3 weeks later to add my younger bro onto the policy full time, with a recent sp30..... They just said yes sir not a problem, i asked how much it would cost & they just said free of charge! Blinding..... :)
