Default Fuel ports on SARD fuel regulator - how tight?

My SARD fuel pressure regulator has 1/8NPT threaded ports for its fuel connections, which have hose tails screwed into them. My question is, how tight can I do them up?

I have a very slight fuel leak from the bottom port at the moment, which has probably been there since I installed the regulator. I did up the tails hand tight and used a bit of PTFE. Any experience with this appreciated.

Cheers!

Hand tight?

Nip them up with a spanner - I assume there are flats for one?
