Default Quick car question

If a car is bought from a dealer / trader (forecourt) will it automatically have a HPI check done?, or would it be advisable to do one myself?

If I was buying a second hand car worth several thousand pounds, I would do my own HPi check.

Any creditable dealer (in fact all of them should) would of done a hpi check on it before they own it ...if it owes finance or been wrote off then they'd be royally rogered. It costs them literally nothing at all to do it. If your unsure then ask them to do it while your there and I'm sure they'll oblige

Only costs £20 so do it yourself every time as confirmation. You then have the advantage that you own that search and if anything goes wrong later, you can go direct to HPI themselves for recompence though I think you may have to pay a bit extra for that. There are other companiews offering the same service from the same databases so shop around.
