I have recently analysed my car mag expenditure for a month and found it added up to approx twenty quid !

I have realised that if I spent less on car mags I could have a better car !

So I hatched a plan, simply read all the publications I would normally buy (and a few more) whilst in the local Martins Newsagents. This was working well, zero spending and I was kept abreast of all the motoring developments (even Max Power !)

However, the Newsagent had spotted my cunning plan and was giving me evil looks every time I went near the car mag section and muttering at me, I think what tipped him over the edge was me asking for a chair and a brew.........

You could get a paper round and read them while you are delivering them

I only get RallyXS, and that is at the subscription price of 18 pounds for 6 issues. You wouldn't catch me wasting money by buying each one individually at 3 pounds a time. Eeermm...

It's money well spent IMHO We get far too many between us - Evo, Car, Motorsport News, Rally XS on subscription - then I also buy a variety of others such as Autosport, Autotrader, Autocar, Landrover Owner, Miniworld (don't ask!). Basically if it's got cars in it I'll buy it excepting of course Max Power, Revs etc etc.

They make a nice pile in the downstairs bog each month

Sal

Cool

I used to buy 2 or 3 different magazines every time I bought petrol which means you don't really notice the money being spent. Must have been over £20 a month on magazines alone. Now I just get Top Gear magazine (took out a subscription years) and EVO magazine.

I bought a copy of Max Power a few months ago as I was desperate for something to read and I couldn't believe how truely awful it was. Full of bottom of the range Saxos and Corsas with half a ton of plastic bolted on. Tragic
