Your PAYG phone is locked and will only work with a PAYG simcard.
I did't think they did this on phones on the same network though.
Atleast you didn't mug yourself to get the 3330.

I would have thought it was something to do with old technology, although the sim cards look the same the mobile phone companies are doing as much as they can to stop people fiddling them out of cash.
On the technology side, it could be something to do with dual band?

Don't know about you but I've really confused my self there!

P.s. It is very unlikley that it is a lock on either of the phones because they are on the same network as Bajie said before!

It is likely to be a phone lock. Something like this

Please note you require a GSM 900 compatible handset which is not "sim locked" to be able to use this package. Please note pay as you go handsets are not compatible

Hi,

I am on a Vodafone contract phone that runs out shortly and want to go to PAYT, but keep my 8210. Does anyone know if I will be able to simply put a PAYT sim card into my existing phone when the contract expires???

Cheers

Shaun

Shaun- yes you can! Vodafone don't lock their contract phones so it will take any PAYT sim.

Question

I heard that on some networks, when a contract card expires, the sim card automatically becomes a PAYT sim card?
