Default Time to build new PC...

OK chaps - I would like some help here. I haven't built a PC for a while, so I would like some advice on specs and good places to buy.

Aim: General use PC, occassional gaming, but mostly the usual stuff - acting as a music server etc etc. I've got most accesories, but what I am looking for is a new case, power supply, processor, motherboard and memory.

Graphics wise - The new ATI X1950 will more than meet my requirements. SO other than that - I'm open to suggestions.

Ta

Hi, I too am looking at building new pc so have been doing some homework on this!
These bits and bobs should make a good system for your needs.

Intel Core 2 Duo E6320 "LGA775 Conroe" 1.86GHz (1066FSB) - Retail - A good performer at a reasonable price, Also its supposed to be highly overclockable if your that way inclined.

Asus GeForce 8600 GT 256MB GDDR3 HDTV/Dual DVI (PCI-Express) - Retail - Another reasonably priced item which should handle most things when coupled with the dual core processor.

Asus P5N-E SLi nForce 650 (Socket 775) PCI-Express DDR2 Motherboard - nice reliable asus mobo, never had any probs with this make,Seems to be the more popular manufacturer amongst pc geeks

Corsair 2GB DDR2 Value Select PC2-5300C5 Dual Channel Kit (2x1GB) (VS2GBKIT667D2) - Heres another bargain, 2 gigs by a reputable manufacturer , You cant go wrong there.

Dont forget a quality psu too as the cheap ones are indeed nasty and cheap.

Also try here - dabs.com - PC Hardware, Components, Software, Digital Cameras, MP3 Players

Hope this helps and theres alot of good advice on the overclockers forum incase you wanted something a bit beefier.
