I had to as I have been doing way too many miles in the scoob. At least now I can keeps the scoob for pure pleasure driving and continue to mod it.
I drove it way too frequently and wasn't enjoying it anymore.
I still love the car and needed to get the buzz back. So I bought a 1995 1.5 litre106. £300 quid, 10 months MOT, 4 months tax, new timing belt. 133K miles. Its a little tatty and not exactly qiuick but mechanically it seems sound.
I already love the scoob more.

Its nuts isn't it. The money I save on petrol will be spent on mods
I saw a dark grey STI blobeye with red calipers by the prison this morning. Anyone from here?
i had to do exactly the same and i picked up a cracking bargin, 6months mot and tax and the little thing has only done 60k miles for a grand total of £250. 1.5 Diesel and cant fault it for a small car rather comfy to drive aswel.

when I picked up this car the diesel light came on so I put £20 of diesel in it and since done over 315 miles before filling up again.
I am gobsmacked. The gauge must be slighly out; there must have been more diesel in it than it was registering.

I brought a R reg Escort Estate Diesel back in March.. it's done six thousand miles since on 95p a litre.. 400 miles to 40 litres.. it rattles and is rusty, but the stereo works and it's got an MOT until April '08..
It also makes driving my Scoob much more enjoyable..!
