Mobil 1 doesn't get very good reviews on here!!!!!! I use Motul myself and have done for 4 years, Do a search but please don't start another "What oil should I use thread"

Personally I'd go to Powerstation, although they aren't much cheaper on the labour, or try Ace Motorsport who have been getting good press on here.
I have also been ripped off by CVC, i had an ordinary servicing and my brakes bled, they took a long time over it.... I had been before to CVC and had a servicing for around £200 ...Imagine my surprise when i got the £800 bill and just before christmas last year...

CVC told me " Its an expensive car, you should expect this"

Oh how i laughed... NOT

After talking to the guys on here (and they are good and really do know their stuff) I am off to ACE Motorsport tomorrow, I have spoken to Andy and he has told me how much i will expect to pay, and that includes a cam belt change

I will keep you posted

Cheers guys, Paul

CVC for me! Would'nt touch KP with a bargepole after problems a while ago which they only sorted after I told them I'd see them in court.

(Flame Suite on)

I think the over all picture here is, we have all had differing experiences with different dealers and independent garages, it’s down to the individual who you go to,

What’s good for one is not always good for another.

Personally I have not had a problem with either one of the dealerships on this thread, I have not had any dealings with Andy at ACE, all but to say “ahup” to at the meets, But have heard and read nothing but glowing reports about the work and pricing policy.

Pick one, Get the work done, and if it’s not to the standard or pricing you expect next time go to another.

I’m not having a go at anybody specifically here, but we seem to be shouting and spreading a lot of negativity recently on SN.

Just my Two penneth,

Criss…

As above, I haven't used either and can't really comment but even if I did have a negitive word to say I wouldn't air my views on a public board.

but face to face is another matter

I've always let me feet to the talking when it comes to bad service

Ditto Danny and Criss. Unless you have a Lexus you will get ups and downs. Playing them off against each other can work well too. How you go about you business is a major factor, like my Dad always said " Manners maketh the man" and like wise for the dealer/vendor.

"Life is like box of chocolates you never know whaat yur gona git"

But you can read the packging first!

Chip and Paul's posts above indicate exactly what I mean - each has supporters and detractors.

I agree with the above posts. i have no reason at all to slate the main dealers, in fact all credit to them for permitting me to use ACE without any problem. Any way Vicky at Keith Price is really easy going person to talk to who tells it like it is. I appreciate people like that.

Lexus is in another world By far the best service I've ever received

I dropped in one day with a problem with the radio with the old dears car. The nephew decided to post 20p in the CD slot!!!! They fitted me in there and then and sorted the problem. Top draw coffee and got to catch up on the latest motoring press and watched TV on the big LCD. + they offer a Free car wash on a saturday whilst you drink coffee inside.

Head office even rang me a week later to confirm I was happy with the service and that everything was ok.

Its those kind of things that make you very content with the customer service you receive. I can honestly say CVC have been much the same to me with fitting me in, first names always , plenty of coffeee and papers and follow up calls. It was one of the reasons I came back to Subaru ownership, the other reason is Im completely potty. Long may it continue

Lightbulb Thanks ACE

OK I said i would keep you posted.

Hade the Scoob serviced at ACE Motorsport, complete with cam belt and tensioner change and full racing spec brake fluid change all for £580

To answer Criss etc earlier in the thread, I think what makes this forum so special is that we can all 'consider' other Scoobyist's experiences, and as said on this thread, make up our own minds.

My experiences of CVC are my experiences... (and i agree mannners do maketh the man) Keith Price is very good in my opinion, however, for my particular needs Andy at ACE is outstanding, and i wouldnt have known about this particular facility without Scoobynet and South Wales Scoobies, so thanks to you all

I hope that was positive for you

Cheers Paul

Collected my sti from cvc on friday after having some warranty work carried out on struts for poor handling , this work was reported when in for service 2 weeks before , had a loan car while it was in and kept informed off the delay in one part , when collected was washed and hoovered and all i paid for was a set of prodrive springs , all struts changed on warranty and the handling now ! it's a totally different car .
